FYI - I served 20 years in the Bundeswehr and until today in other German national security related organizations in reference to Asia - so I had to watch the relentless demise of the Bundeswehr for 20 years - and I am fully aware about the causes and the part our asshole politicians played in this. ...

Soldier, in this case your job is to defend Germany. Why do I have to remember you to do so? We live in the best of all possible Germanies now - but the best of all possible Germanies never was and never will be perfect. Otherwise we could not do any better.

I am a Pacifist. Most Germans are not. I refused to do military service with a weapon a long time ago when it had been hard to do so and was often severely criticized for it. But I have never claimed that I would not defend myself, my people, my country, Europe and the Western world if we were attacked. And now we are being attacked by a tyrant in Ukraine through no fault of our own.

Why can’t Germany treat Ukraine the same way other Western European countries do? The refusal to send weapons to conflict zones equates the aggressor with the victim. For several weeks, German policymakers, refusing to acknowledge this, blocked other NATO members from sending arms to Ukraine.


Why have the Ukrainians received more weapons from Estonia (totaling $240 million) than from Germany (totaling $130 million), a country with an economy more than 100 times larger? Personally, I was always more in favor of a healthy shrinking of Germany and more moderate migration relation of 2% - 4%. 2% minimum - 4% maximum. But I assume under the ~5% of migrants now are also people who are not migrants in Germany any longer because they speak perfectly German.
