The OP missed this......, police INITIALLY charged the shooter, but the JURY declined to indict her.
As usual, the OP twists the news story into a pretzel in order to prove her invalid misguided point.
1). The pregnant woman STARTED the altercation
2). The pregnant woman was physically over powering and beating the other woman
3). IN SELF DEFENSE - - - - - - the "victim" defended herself with a firearm. Killing the unborn.
Self Defense is allowed under the LAW.
38 states have laws protecting FETUSES. Yes, 38
Why should someone DEFENDING THEMSELVES be charged ? (They should not)
If the pregnant woman started the altercation, why should SHE not be held responsible for the consequences? (She SHOULD)
The pregnant woman, through HER actions, caused the death of the unborn. Guilty.
Seems reasonable and just.
Of course, Jeb can't stand it when people are to be held accountable for their own actions. God forbid.

According to a report from Al.com, police initially charged Jemison with manslaughter over the shooting. But a jury declined to indict her, saying that Jones initiated the altercation and that Jemison was acting in self-defense when she shot at Jones.
At their core, these laws have always been about punishing, demonizing and criminalizing black, brown and low-income women.

Local police argued that Jones deserved the blame not only for the shooting but also for not removing herself from the situation earlier. Pleasant Grove Police Lt. Danny Reid said that Jones allegedly “initiated and pressed the fight,” according to
Al.com.
“Let’s not lose sight that the unborn baby is the victim here,’’ Reid said. “She had no choice in being brought unnecessarily into a fight where she was relying on her mother for protection.” Alabama is one of 38 states
with a fetal homicide law that recognizes a fetus as a potential victim of a crime against a pregnant woman.
