Most of the time the child is left with a relative legally in the US (even if the familial relation is sometimes dubious), or taken with the parents if they are deported.

So then what’s the point of birthright citizenship. You get dumped off on some relatives or go home with your real parents. Why put people through that. Keep the family together, deport them all, let them apply for immigration legally and the problem is solved.

I think we should at least be on par with every other nation in the world. The birthright citizenship thing was unnecessary and became an actual problem after the slaves were made citizens. It should have stopped decades ago.

I know that Americans have to do this, because these babies are technically American, so they can't just leave them to die. But I would be extremely resentful, if I were an American. Why should American tax money be spent on the children that were shat out by some foreigners who shouldn't have been here in the first place? Good point sir, and I also thought of something. What if the relatives aren't willing to take the kid? What's gonna happen? Someone has to care for the kid, and most likely, it's Americans, through their tax money.
