The US media has gone into full blown panic mode about it.
The nightly news was quite hilarious. They had to admit that the scientific evidence so far has shown Omicron is mild and hospitalizations in South Africa where it originated has plummeted, but you still really need to be frightened of it.

They also went on to admit that the vaccines, even if recently boosted, provide no ability to prevent catching Omicron.....but you really, really need to get your vaccines and all boosters! Oh and you also need to wear your mask and not go to large gatherings.

It should be obvious these vaccines can not be variant dependent, because they contain no virus at all, or any variant.
They only produce spike proteins in our own cells, and spike proteins can't change or else the virus would not be able to use the spike protein to get our ACE2 receptors to open and let them in.

Omicron is our way out of the epidemic, where recovery immunity is of no real risk, but does not require vaccinations either.
All epidemics always evolve to become less lethal, and eventually provide enough immunity to end the epidemic.

No, whatever spike protein the Chinese commies force the factory production of from the American prisoner's cell also contains the amino acid sequence of some variant.
