34 is 93, and for pasty doughboys with no AC who are not used to such things, it is cause for concern. On the plus side, at least they will get free treatment for their heat strokes.

Awful optimistic on your part. Think their doctors are about to strike again. Guess Starmer's payoff didn't last long.

Anyway, being in the south having seen 100 degree days this year, I want to be able to chuckle at them but the other week I got woozy working outside on a 90 degree high humidity day and had to get myself into the A/C stat.

Oh wait....

That's only 86 degrees in normal temperature. Never mind. :laughing0301:

Heatwave set to peak with 34C temperatures possible

"The UK's third heatwave of the year is expected to peak on Saturday with temperatures soaring to a possible high of 34C.

The hottest temperatures are expected in the Midlands and south Wales, while Scotland and Northern Ireland could see their warmest days of the year so far - with highs of 31C and 29.5C.

Friday saw the mercury hit a high of 34.7C in Astwood Bank in the West Midlands, and Wales recorded its hottest day of the year as Usk hit 32.7C.

Amber heat health alerts remain in place for parts of England - where millions face a hosepipe ban - while wildfire warnings have been issued in Scotland and Northern Ireland..."

I've read that the British Foreign Office considered a posting to Washington DC to be a sub-tropical area.

Whom .
Not Who .
Just a small symptom of Brainfrieditis .

That was supposed to read "Whoa", which is used as a command to a horse to make it stop or slow down, as in "whoa horsie."

Except the "a" fell off. I'll put it back on there if I can find it.

To make it even worse, they're under a "hosepipe ban."

I have no ******* idea what a "hosepipe" is but something with a name like that probably should be banned.
The Romans coped, they didn't have hosepipes -

In America, a hosepipe is commonly referred to as a garden hose or simply hose. While "hosepipe" is used in some parts of the US, particularly in the South, and in other English-speaking countries, "garden hose" or "hose" is the more prevalent term in American English.
