Looks like the legislature will have to correct the mistake made by the voters. It appears common sense will prevail. Of course we should say no to drugs.

Further proof of Republicans’ contempt for democracy and the will of the people.

So, no coffee, no tea, no chocolate? It's BAD FOR YOU

Those three products have been legal since the founding of our country. Obviously they should remain legal.
Alcohol kills more people than any other drug, bar none. Not even close

Why does it kill so many? Probably because it is legal and sold directly to the people from state liquor stores. This sends a message that it is safe and Ok to use.

It is arguably the strongest argument not to allow other street drugs to be treated the same.

Suddenly the will of the voters should just be ignored...right?

If they could surigically remove the hypocrisy from your body, you'd weigh four ounces.

There are "state liquor stores"?

You're right about alcohol being the most lethal drug. But the state isn't selling it by and large.

Voters are always ignored.

The only time they can vote for something it is to vote for self-genocide with abortion, and then drugging themselves afterwards so they don't feel any regrets or drug themselves before going through with it so they can't think about what they are doing clearly.

When it comes to taxes, the only tax they can vote down is funding for the schools they send their children to. So, yea, you can vote it down and watch your kids suffer as well.

Yay.

Any other issue, such as term limits for Congress that about 80% of voters favor, will never see the light of day to be voted on directly by voters. Or how about voters voting for a balanced budget amendment so that Congress will stop spending so much money they don't have which makes the current soul crushing inflation worse?

Democrats simply see what is popular and they agree with doing, then they put it on the ballot. Everything else they make sure never gets voted on, like parental rights.

306>232. Wrong.

Thats bullshit.

They often vote for bonds in my burb to fix schools. Rarely are they voted down. Must be a Dixie thing...which explains quite a bit.

Many states have term limits. So you're quite full of shit.

The right to become a parent is a pretty fundamental right.

When I said term limits, I meant at the national level.

But at the state level, you will never see voters be able to vote for parental rights. If you put on the ballot that teens need to notify theiri parents for an abortion, or have their genital mutilated, it would pass in a heartbeat. But as we all know, that has zero chance of finding it's way on the ballot. Or how about passing a run rights Constitutional amendment which would pass in all red states? Again, it will never see the light of day.

Why? Because the DNC runs things and the GOP is a joke.

You're right about that...

Of course you'd never see bills outlawing interracial marriage and re-instating Jim Crowe...all of those would pass in red states too.

You know why you don't see these? Because they are bad ideas.

As for Abortion...it's being outlawed in the red states...so the whole "teens notifying parents" strawman you've created is a non-starter. Gun laws are passed in states all the time. In Texas you need certification to cut hair and manage a kitchen; but not to buy something that can shoot 20 rounds in a minute. Again; you're so full of shit your eyes are turning brown.

That's not logical.

Ecstasy was legal in the US "since the founding of our country". It became illegal July 27th 1984. So, based on your logic, ecstasy should be legal because it's "been legal since the founding of our country".

Marijuana became illegal at a federal level in 1937. So, for the first hundred something years it was legal. 1913 was the first state to ban pot.

Surely something should be made illegal because of the impact that it has on society.

Pot does NOT had an adverse effect.

In 2012 Colorado and Washington legalized pot.

Colorado has seen an increase in violent crime since then. 2013 was a low point for violent crime in the state (the lowest since the 1960s). Washington state in 2019 had lower violent crime than in 2012, but 2018 had higher, so it's more or less the same.

Robberies are slightly lower in 2019 than 2012, but more or less no increase or decrease and in Washington state they're much lower.

Nothing to say that pot impacts crime stats. Whereas harder drugs do.

As already noted, this is an old article and Republicans aren't going to do anything about the choices the people made a couple weeks ago.

Name one red state that would ban an interracial marriage with poll numbers to back it up. You can't. It is akin to telling the world that the biggest threat to civilization is white supremacy, all when DNC loons and terrorists dance around in glee after the largest genocidal act since the Holocaust. But if there is, should democracy be allowed to be put in action for it?

The Constitutional amendments for abortion being passed in red states do allow for minors to get abortions without the parents' consent, because I have read them. It also allows for abortion at any stage of development, because I have read them.

And if not, you won't have a problem with another amendment spelling out that children CANN|OT get an abortion or have teachers quietly conspire with children to have a gender change, etc., and you won't have a problem stating specifically that passed a certain stage of fetal development no abortion will ever be allowed.

I can show you polls that show that the vast majority of Americans agree with me on both these things, unlike your baseless previous assertions.
