I watched the first hour before I was tired of the shoutfest and went to bed.
What a freaking mess. Trump simply doesn't know when to shut up.
Biden passed his very low brow test, no one expecting much out of him - and we didn't get it.
Trump was a schoolyard bully. He hardly let Biden say two words without interrupting, so the last thing Biden had to worry about was having senior moments.... he never got a moment to show one.

In my opinion - Biden won. He won because he made it. He survived it. He did so without any major senile moments due to Trumps beating. Trump fucked it up like I was afraid he would. He looked childish, bullyish throwing tantrums. Absolutely terrible.
And he gave Biden great reasons to have no more debates.

Biden lied, exaggerated, ...and won because he survived? Living in a basement is surviving. He has been living as a politician in a basement for 47 years while accomplishing nothing...but NOW he wants to do something for America? No thanks. He and his family have enriched themselves enough.

I totally agree. Biden lied most of the time, scoffed and chuckled about things that were true. In other words - like any politician. I am only speaking about the debate itself. Just the debate.

Trump is so insecure in his self to participate in the debate that the only way he could was to repeatedly interrupt Biden lest he make a damaging comment of Trumps tenure that Trump could not defend.

Biden was explaining Trumps failure to mitigate this virus and it just wigged Trump out because he knows it's his failure to tackle the virus that has compounded the problems we're experiencing, unemployment, closed schools, closed businesses etc., that spins off his initial failure.

Biden won by default because Trump didn't want to have a debate. He would lose a debate and knew that. Trump wanted a slap fight and in so doing, unknowingly showed America why he's not suited for the Job of the Presidency.

I think Trump’s strategy was to be overly aggressive to try to rattle Joe Biden. I don’t think it worked.

If it had worked, you would have heard all the dementia talk. But that wasn’t the case at all. He looked fine. I think it backfired. It made Trump look like a jackass and Biden looked relatively cool under the pressure.

Trump also kept trying to peg Biden with far-left labels. Green New Deal, defunding the police, Antifa, socialism. Maybe he was trying to get Biden to denounce them to lose his far left supporters. I think Biden fumbled on the Antifa question but the rest was handled decently. Biden isn’t that left. Maybe Trump thought he was talking to Bernie Sanders.

Of course maybe I’m assuming too much and Trump didn’t actually have a plan.

HAd Trump waited another 2-4 seconds on about 5 different occasions Biden would have expolded and deystroyed himself... Trump needs to use a little more patience. Biden was stumbeling on several occasions and had he let him speak it would have collapsed.

Said way earlier, I believe Biden did have an earpiece communication. When Wallace let him answer second, Biden spent the time writing down what was being told to him. Early on, he fidgeted in his right ear, likely to adjust.

OH RUBBISH. Had this viral pandemic never hit the planet this year, there would be NO QUESTION about Trump's performance. He's knocked it out of the ballpark these past four years DESPITE massive interference.

Actually, the economy was slowing down before the Pandemic hit... and Trump's unnecessary trade wars were partially responsible. The Fed was pumping tons of money into the economy to keep growth at less than 3%, the trade wars caused massive disrpution in supply chains, and it just took a little bump to put the economy into the tank.

As far as Covid iteslf, yes, it had an effect, made much worse by Trump's incompetence in handling it. He failed to invoke the Defense production Act to produce PPE, he knowingly downplayed the virus even though he was telling Bob Woodward how dangerous it was.

Then we have his response, which was to give his corporate buddies huge bailouts while the workers who lost their jobs are seeing their benefits run out.

I expected Biden to have multiple senior moments. Standing there stuttering and confused. And I believe he would have done that given the chance to finish a sentence. He lied several times, he didn't answer the question several other times and got away with it. But he didn't fuck up all that bad. At least not as bad as I thought would happen... and WOULD have if Trump just let him hang himself.
I expected Trump to ... well... be Trump. I expected him to interrupt and get personal. I expected him to be rough, that is his style. But I didn't expect and all out onslaught that turned the whole thing into a hot mess. That was the worst debate in modern history. I think everyone would agree with that. And Trump made it that way.
