Having one or two Communist/Socilaist associations makes a weak argument. Having a career full of them is called analysis based upon past actions and associations. Barack Obama once asked that we judge him by the people he surrounds himself with. I'm holding him to that standard. Your dismissing the facts because it prevents further discussion of the obvious.

With seperation of powers we cannot show how he has changed us into a socialist state but only the actions he has done to move of closer to such a state. By default, a country that moves further to the left naturally moves closer to socialism, and thus, is not a good indicator. The question then becomes not how he has made us in to a socialist state, but, what would we look like in his perfect society. That can only be assessed via past actions, stated intentions, and associations.

No other president in the history of the us has had the amount of communist/socialist influences than he. Capitalist associations? I am sure. But look how he treats the Chamber of Commerce and then look how he treats the Unions. Unions are the path to socialism, every socialist organizer will tell you that. Thats why it was important for Obama to make an illegal recess appointment to the NLRB while congress was still in session. However, the best indicator of all is his non confirmed appointees who need not go through congress. In Obama's perfect world, those people would run the country.

Proves nothing, but the fact that in socialist countries one can do just as well as anyone in a capitalist country, as long as they have a certain amount of talent and/or they faithfully toe the party line.

How else can you explain the success of tiny socialist/communist countries like Cuba or Hungary to do so well at the Olympic Games? Maybe not so much now, but in the heydays of communism, how could Hungary win 16 gold medals in the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games? Or East Germany then and many times, after, until life and kharma and justice caught up with them??

There is plenty of natural precedent for "the commons" without infringing on the principle of self ownership.

Non Cold War dinosaurs, non Pub dupes define socialist as always democratic, basically regulated and fair capitalism with a good safety net, including universal health care, ie, every modern democracy but us- see sig pp1. I don't think there is anyone here who doesn't honestly beleive that Obama would rather take the side of communists/socialists as opposed to working with conservatives.

The only person who believes such a thing is ignorant, not being honest, or a partisan hack.
