Jimmy Carter left the presidency and became a spokesperson for many things, as well as the poster boy for Habitat for Humanity.

Bill Clinton left the presidency and formed the Clinton Foundation, which does charity all over the world, as well as became a spokesperson for many worthy causes.

I guess when Republicans leave the presidency, they want to hide because of the crappy policies they enacted. When Democrats leave, they want to continue to have a good impact on the world and help out those less fortunate.

An interesting observation! Yes, I can see why Reagan and the Bush clan might want to hide away in their shame, or perhaps not to remind us that they belong behind bars and start up proceedings in order to have it done. Bush Baby is still wanted by Switzerland to stand trial. They'll arrest him if he sets foot in the country, I'm told.
