Former President Barack Obama said during the dedication of his presidential center in Chicago on Thursday that America’s Founders fell "terribly short" of the Declaration of Independence’s promise, while casting the nation’s story as one of generations coming together to make the union "more perfect."

"The success of this experiment was never a given," Obama said in his speech, referring to the nation's founding just days before America celebrates its 250th anniversary on the 4th of July.

"In forming our union, the founders fell terribly short of the Declaration's promise, leaving slavery intact, allowing states to restrict the franchise to white men who owned property. But in drafting a Constitution and a Bill of rights, they did have the foresight, the genius, to provide us with a framework that allows each generation to make our union more perfect."

The founding fathers were brilliant
And, our constitution is brilliant.
Obama can't change.
He will be taking his far left hate to his grave.
The Left Wingers cling to their hate like a life preserver.
Never elect people who hate our country.

Hes just bringing us together, love me Obama.

Left do leg work for communists and bad intentions. Obama remains their highest paid mouth.

Obama is first class mfing A+ con. Super smart + twisted + power eating puppet con.

Thinks he's smarter than everyone too, talks down to people all the time. Fake, he acts different depending on crowd black or white. His messages contradictory. Almost psychopath, but not imo.

His high opinion of self and ignorance gets him in trouble, like the time he toasted the queen during their anthem🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

He is the leader of the Islamocrat Party.

They hate America and what it stands for.

He is apparently right about this. He just forgot to mention that not every generation did indeed add to the improvement of the union. He is probably in a generation that overall did not.

My step-dad was a colonel, political masters, author, journalist.... brains for general but a rebel and wouldn't play the game informants and the abuse of money. China, Vietnam, US loving country boy, high iq runs in the family.

I know cons from experience myself, but my dad pointed out how obummer stops middle of sentences demonstrating intent. By some measures that's good, but in obummers case trickery demonstrated by his contradictions.

At the core "first I've ever been proud of the usa" Michael Obummer.. now they're worth north 100 million.

The problem isn’t with the constitution (not entirely true but close enough).

The problem is that the founders laid out ideals that they didn’t follow through on.

Yeah, but she was oppressed every single day the whole time.

Correct. The Constitution isn't the problem.

The problem is how your Islamocrat party shits on it every single day.

HTH

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

He was spot on. There is a difference in the lofty language and ideals of the DOI, the justification of our separation from the UK, and our second go round at forming a federation of 13 sovereign states.
