Obama is against gerrymandering

So why do Democrats do it or how do Democrats do it and it is still fair???

WTF? Where did I say that it's fair if Democrats do it?

I opppose politico redistricting. It ought to be federally standardized and there should be laws against this crazy Picaso shit:

Maryland gets a grade of A on partisan advantage of the maps, compared to F for Florida and Texas that give big partisan advantage to Republicans.

You’ve got to be kidding. I live in Maryland and have been impacted by gerrymandering and you point to a partisan study from Princeton to tell me how Maryland’s redistricting (“gerrymandering”) is non-partisan. Again, we are a Blue state dominated by Democrats - that’s partisan!

You need to learn to be more empirical in your retorts.

Obama "We can't lose focus on what matters - right now, Republicans in Texas are trying to gerrymander district lines to unfairly win five seats in next year's midterm elections," Obama wrote. "This is a power grab that undermines our democracy."

Comment:
Obama is exploiting the ignorance of the Democrat voters again.
Obama knows that the Democrat Party gerrymandered the congressional districts in the Blue States.
He doesn't accuse the Democrats of "a power grab that undermines our democracy" when they gerrymander.
He is who undermined our democracy when he illegally used the CIA, FBI and DOJ as his political weapons.

They Gerrymandered Illinois, getting rid of seveal republican seats.... republican member of the democrat party, adam kinzinger, lost his seat to gerrymandering.

The obvious answer is a bi-partisan/independent redistricting commissions. Congress has an 18% approval rate, yet about 90% of congressional incumbents win re-election. This is a broken system.

Rules are put in place through agreement, then the rules are followed. Like normal, intelligent adults.

That's the obvious answer. But America doesn't do what's obvious. We can't collaborate to fix problems any more. It's not tribal enough. It's easier to just scream at the other tribe.

Thats nice, how about you actually explain what happened and instead of making empty claims?

Maryland voted for Harris 63% and 34% for Trump. Did redistricting do that too?

Your Supreme Court should weigh in on this and force all states to just have your districts divided by a perfect grid of equal sized areas.

It will be equally imperfect for everyone but more logical and symetrical
Buildings and dirt don't vote. Districts need to be as close as possible in population, not area.

Doesn't help when your cult tried to put our party's leader, the former (and current) President of the United States, in prison for the rest of his life.

The Demofks love them gerrymandering. here's a brief summary

Illinois: A Case Study in Bipartisan Abuse

While Republicans in Texas are currently under fire for their proposed map, the state the fleeing Democrats chose as their refuge – Illinois – is a textbook example of how gerrymandering is a weapon used by both parties.

Illinois has a long history of both parties abusing the process when they control the state legislature. But the congressional map drawn by Democrats after the 2020 Census is a modern masterpiece of the craft. It successfully transformed the state’s congressional delegation from 13 Democrats and 5 Republicans to 14 Democrats and just 3 Republicans.

I also heard that Pritzker was talking to the Demofks in Texas a month ago to come to Illinois if that happened.

now you are defending gerrymandering. Also, if the election results went for your (D), why the need or want to gerrymander? Could it be that without the gerrymandering, Harris might not have won with such a margin.

Bullshit, there is of course gerry-mandaring on both sides, but Republican controlled states are BY FAR the biggest offenders and there is no precedent on Democratic side for the scope of what Texas Republicans are up to this year.

It is these BRAZEN Republican power grabs that force Democrats into recieprocation.

Texas Republicans are not responding to something supposedly unfair that Democrats did, they simply want more Congressional seats and power for Trump and they shamelessly say so. There is no other reason and we are opening yet another can of shit in American politics where all that matters is power grabbing as much as you can, which ever way you can.

Trump on Texas redistricting: ‘We are entitled to 5 more seats’

Read that again - ENTITLED.
Look no further than Illinois and California to see the disproportion application
with gerrymandering. :rolleyes-41:
Yes....both sides do, do it. But lets not act like one side is more guilty
than the other side.

idiot

I think most Americans would agree that gerrymandering is bad.

And yet we still have gerrymandering.

That’s a problem.

We should be better than this, and we’re not.

If only he could be hanged for treason.
Obama did his damndest to throw monkey wrenches into the gears of America for 12 years.
16 if you count the sedition against Trump his 1st term.
He was never eligible to be president. Total psyop.

STFU, you know you love you some Democrat gerrymandering.
You're just mad because the representation is being righted.
That's right, *****! We're playing hardball now, and you're about to get a beaner.
Right in the head.
