What the intransigence of the government does is basically render the President powerless in many cases. So if you're the author of 14 journal articles on the Constitution and a professor of law, have held high government office before...matters little if you're going to be President and not get anything done. So why not vote for the guy who pretends to know what he's doing and makes you giggle while he gropes wildly in the dark for the levers of authority???
