The NY snowfall record is a definitely a LOCAL phenomenon, but does hurt the global warming paradigm, since it was supposed to be less snow and more rain/freezing rain as per the IPCC reports.
In a prolonged warming world it would definitely be less likely for snowfall possibility in April for the NY area, since it normally too warm for snowfall now and getting warmer slowly over time.
Instead we see snowfall INCREASING in the Northern Hemisphere in recent years, a trend that might portend to a future cooling trend.
