Enough republicans defected to the democrats side on impeachment that Nixon would have lost his impeachment trial in the Senate.but not enough to remove him from office. right?Goldwater did go to the WH to tell Nixon that he didn't have 34 votes to avoid impeachment. But that was in an era when senators didn't base votes on polls so much.but nixon wasn't impeached. next.
You're confused. No one has claimed Nixon was impeached. Instead, we're noting that even with overwhelming evidence, Republicans will still oppose impeachment for their own.
Even Nixon, even after firing the special counsel, even after the release of the Nixon tapes.
In other words, Congressmen were more likely to actually have ETHICS back then instead of what we see with The Atheistic America Hating Socialist Democrat Party now.
Oh, far more democrats supported impeaching Nixon than republicans did.
When Nixon learned of this and that the article of impeachment were already in committee in the house....he resigned.
And yet through it all.....a majority of republicans still opposed impeaching Nixon. Even with the Nixon tapes, even with the firing of the special counsel, even with overwhelming evidence of both a crime and a cover up by the President. If you want to impeach Trump....you'll need more democrats in congress.
