Nunes Memo Prediction Thread

but nixon wasn't impeached. next.

You're confused. No one has claimed Nixon was impeached. Instead, we're noting that even with overwhelming evidence, Republicans will still oppose impeachment for their own.

Even Nixon, even after firing the special counsel, even after the release of the Nixon tapes.
Goldwater did go to the WH to tell Nixon that he didn't have 34 votes to avoid impeachment. But that was in an era when senators didn't base votes on polls so much.

In other words, Congressmen were more likely to actually have ETHICS back then instead of what we see with The Atheistic America Hating Socialist Democrat Party now.

Oh, far more democrats supported impeaching Nixon than republicans did.
but not enough to remove him from office. right?
Enough republicans defected to the democrats side on impeachment that Nixon would have lost his impeachment trial in the Senate.

When Nixon learned of this and that the article of impeachment were already in committee in the house....he resigned.

And yet through it all.....a majority of republicans still opposed impeaching Nixon. Even with the Nixon tapes, even with the firing of the special counsel, even with overwhelming evidence of both a crime and a cover up by the President. If you want to impeach Trump....you'll need more democrats in congress.

dude, they are allowed to contact russia. so you still haven't given anything accept they lied. try again. and try harder.

I've given you that they've lied to the FBI. And *what* they lied about: Trump team contacts with Russia.

That there are crimes in the Trump team is undeniable. That these crimes are immediately related to Russia is undeniable.

Which is why Mueller's investigation will continue.
nothing you wrote is a crime. nor is any other thing you wrote here in this thread. you lose. what is it you think you're going o do? do you know how a president gets removed from office? let us see what you actually know. so far nothing. it's all legal that has been investigated.

Watergate was a crime. Covering it up was a crime. The tapes proved the crime. And the firing of the special counsel was to try and cover it up.

And even when direct, overwhelming, actionable evidence of crimes and a cover up by the president......a majority of republicans still opposed impeaching Nixon. Ben is right. You won't get republicans voting to impeach Trump no matter the evidence. You'll need to get more dems into office for that.
Just to be clear, I am sure you are right that there's a case for obstruction based on just what Trump has said and released, and I'm pretty much convinced that Mueller has some documentary evidence, as opposed to just some witness saying "I heard," that Trump agreed to do something for Russia to do something, which would be undeniably illegal.

But even so, I don't think Trump should be removed unless it's in an election.

That could be true. I'll wait to see what Mueller presents.

My point is simply that there is *more* than enough justification to continue the investigation. As there is undeniably crimes in the Trump team. And these crimes undeniably relate immediately to Russia.

Which makes the Republican insistence that the investigation be ended immediately so strange. With the indictments and guilty pleas you have more than ample evidence that the investigation should be continued, even expanded.

That's the question. What could they fear we'll learn? Although, much of the hullabaloo may just be Trump. He can't just shut up and go about his business.

Back in Reagan's second term, the dems were nearly frantic that they'd have to make some impeachment news after Reagan intentionally violated a law prohibiting his funding revolutions in S. and Central America. Reagan first feigned deafness, and then his memory failed (perhaps for real) and he retired being the father we all wished we'd had. LOL Eventually HW ended up pardoning most everyone and it all was swell.

need 2/3s of the senate. didn't have it. no one ever will. it's the way the framers intended it.

such as what exactly? if he hasn't released anything, what is it you think you have? come on chucky present your facts. are you afraid? chucky?

4 indictments and 2 guilty pleas....demonstrating that there are undeniably crimes in the Trump camp. And that these crimes relate undeniably to Russia.

Ignore as you will. It won't matter.
dude, you aren't very bright are you? nothing to do with the investigation. I keep telling you that. now, explain to me how you think you're getting trump out of office. why you avoiding answering? hmmmmmmm you don't know right? that is classic avoidance for ignorance.

The indictments and the guilty please are all products of the investigation. And establish undeniably that there are crimes in the Trump team and that those crimes relate immediately to Russia.

Which is why the investigation will continue.

again dude, what does it take to get a sitting president out of office? impeachment isn't it. so educate yourself for once.

Again, Goldwater informed Nixon that he couldn't count on 34 no votes in the Senate if impeached. That enough republicans had gone with the democrats to impeach him. With articles of impeachment already in committee in the House, Nixon resigned.

Yet a majority of republicans still opposed impeaching Nixon even with all the evidence of his guilt. You'll need more democrats in congress to impeach Trump.

The indictments and the guilty please are all products of the investigation. And establish undeniably that there are crimes in the Trump team and that those crimes relate immediately to Russia.

no they aren't, they are rat holes that someone went down because someone lied. and it's pleas, not please. I could open an investigation to murder and if someone testifies about something unrelated and it's found to be a lie, perjury ensues. Nothing about the murder. so the investigation was merely entrapment.

Yes, the charges the 4 indictments and 2 guilty pleas are the immediate product of Mueller's investigation. You're argument at this point is literally to deny reality.

Good luck with that. Closing your eyes doesn't make the world disappear. ANd while you're screwing your eyes shut...

Its still undeniable that there are very serious crimes in the Trump team. And that those crimes relate immediately to Russia.

This is why the investigation will continue. And why the republicans will continue to try and shut it down.

I think some in the gop are fellow travelers with Trump's alt-R agenda of keeping America white and withdrawing form international relations .... though NK shows how perilous and frankly impossible that is. Tom Picking Cotton, Pee Wee and Nunes come to mind. Issa who is struggling for his political life.

Others like Burr and Rubio seem wary of carrying water for a guy who's best defense to what he did with Russia in the campaign are "I didn't know it was wrong because laws never applied to me unless they helped me!"

And then there are still others like Graham and McConnnell who'd prefer to protect him so as to get a second term for his signature on legislation and Judges.

But there are no Goldwaters in the Senate.

yep they admitted they lied to an FBI agent. wow. hly fk sacrilege

They admitted they lied to the FBI about contacts between the Trump team.....and Russia. And now they're discussing who *ordered* them to make contacts with the Russians.

She's posted there's evidence Trump obstructed justice. Personally, I think Mueller has evidence of Trump and Russia doing a quid pro quo for help against Hillary, and that would not only be a crime, but arguably he illegally flipped an election, AND we already know he fired Comey when he knew Comey was investigating his ties to Russia. That's the obstruction.

Even so, he's not going to be impeached.
What EVIDENCE OF OBSTRUCTION?

Please CITE THE EVIDENCE of Obstruction.

Your post is dismissed immediately based on the logical fallacy of trying to associate perceived interpreted racism based on opinion with Immigration Policy. Canada has a stricter immigration policy than we do, so are they "Bigoted" against America?

Trump firing Comey and citing the Russia investigation as the reason.

Trump personally preparing a factually inaccurate statement about Trump Jr. meeting at Trump tower with a Russian

Comey testifying that Trump ordered him to stop his investigation into Flynn.

Trump admitting via twitter that he knew of Flynn's crimes before he fired Comey.

And that's what we know of. We'll learn what else, if anything, Mueller has soon enough.

My prediction. The Howdy Doody Nunes Nuzzing Memo will be leaked over weeks through briebart and Faux, with each leak being shown either false or irrelevant to everyone but the Trumpbots, who will claim it is definitive proof of a Deepstate Coup

The memo has been read by Congress. After the initial round of panty shitting hysterics by a handful of hard core Trump supporters......there are crickets.

The initial hyper-hyperbolic bleating painted the GOP in the corner. Because it *has* to be a home run now with immediate, undeniable, actionable evidence. As the silence from GOP leaders who have already read the memo demonstrates.....its not a home run.

They're stuck.
Well, I think the entire intent of the Pee Wee Nunez memo is simply to give sand for the Trump supporters to hide their heads.

But even if it's shown in a memo or email that irrefutably Trump offered Russia something for help in the campaign, and that he fired Comey after he learned Comey was investigating his campaign ties to Russia, Trumps not going to be impeached unless the Dems take the House and have a 5-10 person advantage, and even then the gop isn't going to lose the Senate, and even if they did by 3-4 seats, it takes 2/3's of Senators to kick a guy out, and not even all Dems will vote to do that, and imo they shouldn't even if Trump did what most of us think he did.

You are quite right. Even after the Nixon tapes were released and the special counsel fired.......a majority of republicans still opposed impeachment.
At the time, I just didn't want to participate in the Southeast Asia Wargames, so just getting rid of the SOB was swell by me. But on an intellectual level, I didn't think what he did was worthy of being removed from office. Yes he ordered his guys to tap the dems phones, and then tried to cover it up, and he obstructed justice even if he somehow didn't conspire to burgle. And that's a LOT different form Bill's shenanigans, but the public shaming and political emasculation seemed enough, and no way McGovern was gonna win, and he ended up wrecking the dems for 10 years.

However, we've since learned that Nixon conspired with Taiwan to torpedo peace talks with Vietnam back in 1968, and he kept that war going for a good four years just to get elected. That to me is treason, and he killed thousands of Americans for power.

At the worst, Trump's not come close to that.
Kinda like Clinton and Obama Conspiring with Russia, Fusion GPS, the FBI and DOJ and probably the IRS to try to "Torpedo The Trump Campaign"

Can’t wait for “Dangerous And Dumb: The Devin Nunes Story” to come out

Laughing!

So a president doesn't have to ever give testimony......unless he does.

So much for your 'fact'.
nope, he doesn't have to. at all.

You literally gave us an example of how you're wrong. With Clinton being forced to give testimony under oath as president.

Not only can't you back up your pseudo-legal gibberish with evidence, you've proven yourself wrong.

How someone can be wrong twice on the same claim, I have no idea. But you managed!
he was not forced to give testimony. post that link that says he was forced to.

why did trump hire a lawyer that represents HIM... outside of the office of the presidency? he doesn't have to testify for the reason of self incrimination... which means he would have to resign or face impeachment. if he resigns, that does not mean he cannot be charged with criminal acts both federal & state. he's screwed either way.
Clinton had a personal lawyer. Bush had a personal lawyer. it's normal.

lol... & pence too? there's a whole lot of abnormal going on.... just ask mcCabe.

1, 3 and 4 might be obstruction, but the jury or congress would have to find there was an intent to end the investigation so as to derail discovery of some underlying fact, which could be a crime of a common endeavor with Russia or even just an embarssement of some kind - golden showers or owning a lot of money to the Russian mafia.

With 2 though he really was suborning perjury from Werewolfson#1. That's definitely getting closer. It's a crime in and of itself, regardless of what Trump sought to coverup.

Save of course you can't back up that claim with *actual* evidence. Remember, your imagination isn't evidence.

You're simply not well suited for debate outside the right wing echo chamber. As you keep working under the assumption that any hapless nonsense you say is going to go unchallenged. And that we'll never demand you back your claims up.

But we do. And you never can. Which is why you fail.

well he doesn't have to testify. a president doesn't have to ever give testimony. you know this right?
Unless they are acussed of an ACTUAL CRIME and they have EVIDENCE OF IT like Bill Clinton Had against him Then you have to testify. They just couldn't pin enough on him, because well....the guy who KNEW and could testify to the crimes murdered himself, and others chose to go to jail rather than Rat out Bill and Hillary.

No one will go to Jail from The Trump Administration, like they went to jail from The Clinton Administration.

President Trump can do what he wants, but Unlike Bill Clinton who was forced to testify and was impeached, they cannot force President Trump to testify because there are no criminal charges being investigated, nor are any criminal indictments being submitted to him or his attorneys that implicate or indicate The President.
impeachment does not mean remove from office. to be removed from office there needs to be a 2/3 vote in the senate. Never gonna happen ever.

I know what impeachment is. I am just telling Lefty that Mueller's Witch Hunt is not even going to get close enough to even remotely attempt that. No High Crime... No Misdemeanors. That is the standard for Impeachment.

This was Mueller's Mandate. To try to catch anybody, anyone contradicting themselves over LEGAL and PERMISSIBLE ACTIONS when they are Interrogated over DOCUMENTED and WRITTEN DISCLOSURES about LEGAL ACTIONS which they are FORCED TO RECALL VERBALLY.
yep, totally understand. The fact remains however, that impeaching a president does not remove him from office. all I'm saying. It takes a 2/3 majority of the senate to remove him, and that ain't gonna happen.

Comey, Mueller, and THE ENTIRE FBI KNEW that there was NO RUSSIAN COLLUSION and even said so in their PRIVATE CONVERSATIONS, so this is a Political Assassination, a Hit Job, and TREASONOUS COUP, and it is time TO END IT.

...and not end it nicely either

I've given you that they've lied to the FBI. And *what* they lied about: Trump team contacts with Russia.

That there are crimes in the Trump team is undeniable. That these crimes are immediately related to Russia is undeniable.

Which is why Mueller's investigation will continue.
nothing you wrote is a crime. nor is any other thing you wrote here in this thread. you lose. what is it you think you're going o do? do you know how a president gets removed from office? let us see what you actually know. so far nothing. it's all legal that has been investigated.

Please CITE US CODE that indicates specifically what High Crime or Misdemeanor Trump is being accused of committing.

Thank you for your cooperation

Sincerely,

Just The Facts Mam

Trump firing Comey and citing the Russia investigation as the reason.

Trump personally preparing a statement about Trump Jr. meeting at Trump tower with a Russia that lied about the meeting.

Comey testifying that Trump ordered him to stop his investigation into Flynn.

Trump admitting via twitter that he knew of Flynn's crimes before he fired Comey.

And that's what we know of. We'll learn what else, if anything, Mueller has soon enough.

Lying to hide contacts with Russia would most definitely fall into the 'pattern of behavior' standard used to establish criminal intent.
