Now, Trump wants to charge 14-year-olds as criminals

What say you, Luckyone ?

Do you think coldblooded murder deserves a pat on the head?
Neither, but one needs to understand that 14-yearolds are not considered adults, meaning their thinking abilities about the consequence of their actions is not yet fully developed. As such, they do need to face punishment that will make them understand what happens when they do something like that but not punished like an adult.

Mind you, this is not an opinion but a scientific fact, as well as the norm of our existing laws.

So you assume when they turn 21 they will renounce murder as a means of getting whet they want?

Most people are incapable of cold blooded murder for any reason

But when young people demonstrate they are capable of murder age doesn't matter

Great, what punishment do you feel a 14 year old should receive after murdering someone?

I am not a lawyer nor do I know the existing laws on this, as such, asking me that question is useless. Nonetheless, the minimum he should receive is a sentence where he is put in a place where he is in fact "jailed" until at least he is 18 (or 21) years old and then a determination be made then again.

Your words "most people" show that you are not truly thinking. Each case is different and that is why only a judge that hears the case, with all the information available on the guilty party, can make any determination on the punishment. You certainly are not qualified to do that!

Well, if poor little Johnny is underage, perhaps we should punish little Johnny's parents, those that are supposed to be responsible for him.

AI Overview

Fourteen-year-olds are developing their self-awareness and ability to understand the consequences of their actions, but their brains are still maturing, particularly the prefrontal cortex responsible for reasoning and impulse control. They understand right from wrong but can be heavily influenced by emotions and peer pressure, leading to impulsive or riskier behavior. While they are working on responsibility and independence, consistent guidance, setting boundaries, and teaching them to empathize with others are crucial for developing their ability to act responsibly.

They now put them in juvie until 18 and then serve out the rest of the sentence as an adult.
It's determined at the original trial.

I am referring to the 300 million plus citizens who have never murdered anyone and never will

You are shilling for young people who have murdered someone, often during another crime like carjacking or robbery of a store clerk

AI is now science? Damn, no wonder you're so stupid.

Children know right from wrong at a very early age. Parents who don't PARENT their children create selfish brats in the best case, and monsters in the worst case.

Sociopaths are born however, they are not created.

The norm of existing laws is does the child know right from wrong? Can they appreciate the nature and quality of the act?

Mostly when children kill they know exactly what they are doing. They fully expect that their minority will protect them from punishment.

So, you are saying that by doing the legal and scientifically based approach to a killing by a teen is going to hurt the family because the revenge and payment is not enough?

Bullshit! I am standing for common sense and reason. Has there ever been a time when there were no murders? You honestly think that punishing 14-yearolds is going to end murders from happening? You are a sick puppy.

You may be standing for common sense and reason, but we all know you clowns have none.
