Really? They made him Pope because of his knowledge of science?

---The international community must make the “ecological commitment” a top priority, Pope Francis said in an interview published Sunday.

“We have not awakened in the face of planetary wars and injustices, we have not listened to the cry of the poor, and of our gravely ill planet,” the pontiff told the Italian daily Il Mattino. “We thought we would always remain healthy in a sick world.”---

We Catholics are having a hard time with this as well. . . . What social or earthly matters this pope puts repeated urgency on, and what other grave eternal matters he seems to ignore ---- it's disheartening.

“We can no longer blithely accept inequalities and disruptions to the environment,” he said. . . . The drama of land fires in southern Italy “is connected to the many dramas that the earth suffers from,” Francis said. -------- You mean dramas like sin?

he obviously hasn't studied capitalism and how it has done more to eliminate poverty than any other gov system.

And why would he know that? He is in charge of faith and morals, not economics. But if you have to tell the POPE that, of all people, something is very WRONG

but we knew that.

The problem is, how do we fix it? The whole Church is one big train wreck mess

But sin is not real.. It was just a made up construct, possibly made up by God himself but hey.. We don't need God anymore. We have modern technology. We have the fancy I-phones and etc. who needs God? And if we don't have God, we certainly don't have to hold onto that antiquated notion called Sin, do we?

voila'

Humans rule -- as per Vatican II teachings (that all religions have the power to save, not just the religion founded by the Man Himself, Jesus Christ
