From what I read rounding will actually benefit consumers by a tiny amount. So things won't be more expensive AND the government saves taxpayers $110 million.the system changed with it and nothing is priced at the 1/2 cent price anymore,,
donnt think making everything in dollar increments is going to happen
they say a lot of things,,From what I read rounding will actually benefit consumers by a tiny amount. So things won't be more expensive AND the government saves taxpayers $110 million.
110M, that should buy some new toilet seats in congress...From what I read rounding will actually benefit consumers by a tiny amount. So things won't be more expensive AND the government saves taxpayers $110 million.
I opposed this for a long time... but today's dollar is essentially a quarter from 25 years ago.Dollar coins. Cheaper overall than $1 bills due to the MUCH longer life in circulation. (20+ years versus 6-10 months.)
Would you bend over to pick up a penny?
Be honest.
We'll likely continue to stave this off for the rest of our lifetime...or mine at least.they say a lot of things,,
one more step towards a digital system
We'll likely continue to stave this off for the rest of our lifetime...or mine at least.
But I suspect it will happen eventually.
That's not going to happen for the very reason you state. Cash is freedom. That doesn't mean we have to be stupid and wasteful.why stop at 110M,, end all cash now and save more now,,
the choice is stand and fight or submit,,
Yes. I respect money. But only if head's up. Otherwise I flip it over.Would you bend over to pick up a penny?
Be honest.
if only those words meant something,,That's not going to happen for the very reason you state. Cash is freedom. That doesn't mean we have to be stupid and wasteful.
No it isn’t. Inflation has already made the penny worthless. That is nothing but a deflection from the topic.
do yo think the retailer and tax man will round up or down to offset??No it isn’t. Inflation has already made the penny worthless.
the core debate is can HE just do that legally?Trump is not eliminating the penny, he simply will no longer produce new ones. There is a significant difference.
Aren’t most transactions electronic anyway?do yo think the retailer and tax man will round up or down to offset??
