No more pennies will be minted

the system changed with it and nothing is priced at the 1/2 cent price anymore,,

donnt think making everything in dollar increments is going to happen
From what I read rounding will actually benefit consumers by a tiny amount. So things won't be more expensive AND the government saves taxpayers $110 million.

110M, that should buy some new toilet seats in congress...;)

Dollar coins. Cheaper overall than $1 bills due to the MUCH longer life in circulation. (20+ years versus 6-10 months.)
I opposed this for a long time... but today's dollar is essentially a quarter from 25 years ago.

25 years ago a loaf of Walmart bread was a quarter. Today its a dollar twenty.

We'll likely continue to stave this off for the rest of our lifetime...or mine at least.

But I suspect it will happen eventually.

why stop at 110M,, end all cash now and save more now,,

the choice is stand and fight or submit,,

That's not going to happen for the very reason you state. Cash is freedom. That doesn't mean we have to be stupid and wasteful.

if only those words meant something,,

give the government an inch they take a mile,,

trump wont always be around

Trump is not eliminating the penny, he simply will no longer produce new ones. There is a significant difference.
the core debate is can HE just do that legally?

we have billions of penny's in circulation so if we stopped in 2025 we would not run out for 30 years

I could see the mint making special proof coins for collectors like they do

I have not bought one for age but I do have full proof sets of all our coins

retailers will round up for their favor most likely

Aren’t most transactions electronic anyway?
bad excuse and bad idea,,

as usual
the finger wobbles back to the fire
the dog returns to his vomit
and republicans go back to being mindless drones,,,
