Rioting is not a valid form of protest.
Those who protested without engaging in violence, looting, arson and assault are protesters exercising their rights.
Those who engage in violence and assault and looting are committing a crime.
Why is that a hard concept for you?
When the problem being protested is more serious than the rioting and it has been ignored long enough, then rioting is the only means left and is valid.
