Last week a Wisconsin Supreme court open seat just went to a woman Democrat for the first time in 22 years, She won a dozen rural counties in Missouri. They lost the 10th district seat a few months ago to a Democrat that Republicans had held for the last 17 years. Scott Walker is freaking out over these loss's, tweeting out this is a wake up call for Republicans. It is. Paul Ryan won't even say if he's going to run for reelection this coming November. Doug Jones wins in Alabama, (black women came out in numbers never seen before to make that happen.) The 18th district in Pennsylvania, a predominately Republican, big steel district, that Trump won by 20 points in 2016, just turned blue. Connor Lamb won. A democrat hadn't won this seat in decades. New Jersey, Virginia have new Democrat governors. 15 Seats were up in the Virginia state house Democrats won all of them, women winning 11 of those seats. The DNC has announced it's running candidates for every congressional seat in TEXAS. Ted Cruz is up for reelection facing a 40% Hispanic voting population. Trump's motorcade was booed in Atlanta, Georgia 2 months ago. These Presidential books--"Russian Roulette" & "Fire & Fury" are in the top 10 best sellers on Amazon, when most people ignore Presidential tell all books. 39 House Republicans have already announced their early retirements, and will not seek reelection this coming November.

Watching National news this morning--we had farmers & ranchers on T.V. complaining about Trump's tariffs, after they got the complete list of what China was going to retaliate with. Yes, they all admitted they voted for Trump. You have to defend 26 seats against only 9 for the GOP! In order to take the House you have to keep all 26 and also take 2 GOP held seats. I think you're naive if you think that's going to happen.

Manchin in West Virginia is in for a tough race. McCaskill in Missouri is in danger. Nelson in Florida may be facing popular Governor Rick Scott which makes that race a toss up. Heitcamp in North Dakota will be in for a hard campaign as well. Those are all races that you HAVE to win. Lose just a few and there's no way you win back the house.

I would strongly suggest that you Trump supporters & those of you that voted for him, READ this book, which is the number 6 best seller on Amazon today. Very well written, easy to follow, very informative and hard to put down. It's not a political hack book. It goes into the errors of Obama not reacting quickly enough to Vladimir Putin. Democrats regretting not paying attention to Mitt Romney's warning that Vladimir Putin's Russia is our greatest threat, & some of the recent hits that Vladimir Putin has ordered on double agents and political opposition leaders. It reads like a nonfiction spy novel. These authors deserve a Pulitzer for it.

This book will prepare you for the OPEN public hearings & testimony that will begin on January 20, 2019 when Democrats take over the house.

The Trade war is a very good topic. While I don't know if tariffs on Chinese imports are going to stop them from winning the trade war. What China wants is continual economic growth and development. Their big GDP and exports are funding massive projects for infrastructure and record setting development projects. The up coming Silk Road expo is the next big trade show to try and drive more sales to American and worldwide businesses.

One problem is that the way their working to grow their economy is through retailing their products in our market at factory prices. When I was in China I noticed that their factories setup Amazon shops in the USA, and can sell factory retail cheaper then they could do trade shows. While they offered me a job, I would only make $1 or $2 profit on an item that sells in the USA for $15-$30. While I didn't think running an amazon store for a factory was a good idea for a job, I could see how it could disrupt our economy. Say that factory sold those items to Best Buy for just $4 a piece. Best Buy wants to sell them at $20 a piece but now has to sell them for $15 because someone on Amazon is offering them for $10. Those Amazon shops don't have to pay the same amount of rent that a brick and mortar shop has to pay, and as more factories setup Amazon shops there will be less room for competition. People will go to Amazon first and the brick and mortar companies will go out of business.

Just to remember to stop for those mom and pop shops, you see on the road. As the next generation spends more time on the internet, there will be less shops that stay open. To battle this we really have to do some work on generating income from raising culture. I heard that there were more hangout spots back in the 1950s then there are today. In China, to stimulate local spending, they have night markets that let small time vendors open tents and stalls on the streets. If we just opened night markets up once a month it could sustain quite a few small time - part time vendors and if it's in a commercial area it will bring in business to small shops.

There is really no such thing as a trade deficit. It's just a paper deficit. We can't expect smaller populated countries, like Canada & Mexico to buy two washers and dryers and 5 American cars per family. We buy more because we're a bigger population. Therefore the only trade surplus we should be showing is with China. They have a bigger population. The issue is they manipulate their currency which reflects the trade deficit. In essence, every sale of an American product is a trade SURPLUS.

It is all good. Trump said today that even though the farmers were going to lose in his trade war, he will make it it to them. Presumably he means subsidies paid with out tax money.
