No food stamps for any family of a striking worker

We can change that. Thanks for bringing it up.

It's not fair. If someone only makes $10 an hour and the union worker makes $15 an hour and decides to strike then that is not fair. Explain to me how that is fair to the guy making $10 an hour. Go for it.
its not fair?......how so?....one guy gets a Union job....gets better bucks and Bennies and he is supposed to worry about the guy making less in a NON- Union shop?......yea im not going to ask for more money because Joe down the street is making less then me....yea right.....maybe the guy making ten bucks an hour should take the advice of some of the Anti-Union people here.....and go get a better job.....then the poor slobs feelings wont be hurt....

My feelings aren't hurt at all... I know my worth and know I make MORE at what I do...because there is NO Union equivilent to what I do because Unions have been rejected in my field.

ok but that doesnt explain how its unfair to the guy making less if the guy making more goes on strike...........

Is Dick Trumpka poor ? And why doesn't he feed the striking workers ? Why dont the respective unions feed THERE striking workers ? Why do the taxpayers have to feed them ?

Trumpka makes less that the average Wall street worker.

It is an example of how people working together collectively be more successful in a capitalistic system. Of course many Republicans would love to get rid of unions because they are pro-business not pro free market.

Well grown up people working collectively should be mature enough to sock their money and their food away for when the day comes they wish to strike. Don't expect we the taxpayers to support you if you CHOOSE not to work.

My point is more valid than your point that he makes less than the average wall street worker. Because it's the union members paying his salary, not wall street.

I was responding to the questions "Is Dick Trumpka poor ? And why doesn't he feed the striking workers ?"

And I was responding to your comment.
" he makes less than the average wall street worker"

News flash his salary is paid for by striking union workers.

We could have an honest debate on how to reform or even eliminate food stamps but that isn't what this is. This is having the government pick winners and losers based on politics... I thought you conservatives were against that?

Try and look at the big picture... would you want to deny food stamps to Christians because they refuse to work on the sabbath? or someone that quite a job for ethical reasons?

Food stamps are the lowest most basic social safety net there is and if you start politicizing it will become a huge mess like the tax code.

Just base it on need and feed the hungry. Don't use food as a political weapon.

You have a weak argument. I don't care who they are even my own family if you quit a job you do not deserve help from the government. You or they made the c hoice to quit or go on strike. let the unions they love so much love them now.

I would say most of it is paid for by non-striking union workers.

It was paid for by all union members, even those who are on strike. If not where do those unions due go to?
Legal representation; legislative lobbying; political campaigns; pension, health, welfare, and safety funds; and/or the union strike fund.

It would be up to the union if they want to collect full, partial or no dues from their striking members.

Your logic:
So if your dad quits his job from an unethical employer and starts his own business but doesn't quite make enough to feed his family then he shouldn't be able to get food stamps.

but

some deadbeat gets fired should qualify?

And unions ARE pro-business?

Christians are no different than others in this regard. Of course they should be refused my property for their lack of planning.

Most of the slimeballs receiving food-stamps use them for drugs, alcohol, gambling, etc.]
