No food stamps for any family of a striking worker

Espresso machine?

Typical right wing rhetoric. Try food on the table, your kids education, healthcare, your retirement benefits.

These are the issues workers care about and the rightwing is trying to erode

I have food on my table, my kids are well educated, we have health care that has gone up $300.00 a month thanks to the reform bill but we have it and I can retire at 55 if I like and no union did any of that for me. My future is in my hands ware it belongs and the Government cant **** it up to bad. I call my shots, and I dont have to rob the tax payer to feed my family. I can do that because I know if the employer I work for dont want to pay up I can walk and find one who will. Aside from that, union strikers get strike pay. if they need more then let the union feed them. Not my job to do it so **** them.

Amazing how some of these people will tether thier own liberty to someone else...and not realize what they're doing.

Well, that's the life of a neoconservative mind slave I guess. There is just no honer in having balls and working for a living anymore. And what happened to the stigma food stamps used to bring ? When I was a kid my Mom got them. She was very ashamed to do it . Get them if you need them, but damn get a ******* job and you will eat good and it will do wonders for the old self esteem.

TMN has achieved the state of being a parody of a satire of a performance art installation of herself.

It would be laudable if she had accomplished this on purpose, but it's just an accidental phenom of idiocracy.

Labor strikes have been used throughout history as the only means for the poor to stand up to the oppresion of the wealthy. History is rife with examples of the wealthy taking advantage of the poor and this is no different.

The GOP has fed the wealthy the past 20 years (actually even longer than that) and now some people are advocating that we don't feed the poor (and hungry).

The wealthy have been given the funds that have drawn us to the brink of economic collapse and now the GOP is asking the poor to make up the difference, seems totally out of wack.

You mean to say that she has become a charactacture of herself?

Indeed. :) And your spelling convention is POETIC, considering the object.

Is Dick Trumpka poor ? And why doesn't he feed the striking workers ? Why dont the respective unions feed THERE striking workers ? Why do the taxpayers have to feed them ?

Their thinking is that by virtue that they're Americans and therefor entitled. Nevermind that they sewed the seeds of thier own problems by personal choice.

They may be at Liberty to make idiotic choices. We are NOT at Liberty or obliged to feed them for their own stupidity.

So Wal Mart pays really well? I don't think so.

Yes for educated people. Yes I have what you might call a real job. I like to teach, but I also know that some of my students are made for that. Parents aren't happy that I say their son or daughter isn't really fit for college. But I tell them that if they specialize in a certain skilled labor, they will be more happy.

Some kids like to have things in their hands and do something. Some like myself, like to broaden my horizons, read and learn. I like to do that. We need labor in this country, but you keep lowering the initial wage like the cartels are doing. Its going to reduce our purchasing power, reducing the ability to take care of their families.

Its very bad news for America when we don't pay our workers decent, livable wages.

I could turn this entire thread on its head and say that if you support illegal immigration, you cant possibly believe what you posted.
If we keeps lowering the standards for "cheap" labor, we will never be able offer really good wages.

BUT... I wont do that tonight. Im too tired.

You dont sound like a bad guy JFK. Sorry I was nasty earlier.

Been on of those days.

Its been one of those weeks. My girlfriend dislocated her kneecap this week and I am expecting a huge bill.

But I understand that cheap labor makes it possible to have high paying jobs. But at some point, the rich are going to have to give a little back. We can't keep having rising food prices, gas prices and wages stagnant and expect people to be civil. Yeah I can be upset that their will be no new parks, but when I can't afford to feed my child, now you are getting personal.

The food bubble is coming. I think it will be worse than the housing crisis because alot of our economy is based in agriculture and if we don't start to cut prices and end speculating, its going to begin to affect us.

This we can both be in agreement on.

I myself am beginning to store non perishables as a precaution. Heck, a little insurance never hurts.

I've been doing it for about a decade now. (And more than non-perishables) ;)
