NJ High School Holds Bush War Crimes Trial...

That's what your bias is clouding, there isn't any way to 'research' this. All the reporting is biased, sign of the present.
I'll agree with you on that, but it is biased on both fronts. You can't escape partisan bias in news any more.

Mock trial, exploring all sided of an issue. Hmmmm. Perhaps an exercise in judicial proceduce and what all is envolved in bringing a case to an actual court of law would be more appropraite than speculation.

Much better idea!!

The more I read over it, the more it's coming across as debate than trial. Besides, they're having to look up some information to understand their side of the case.

Apparently they have to research in order to even do this to any length at all. They're taking popular information from media (of both sides I am assuming) and then looking at things from there.

What's happening with this "mock trial" kag, is that it doesn't matter WHAT they find, the point of it is to PLANT the IDEA that President Bush is GUILTY in the minds of these YOUNG and IMPRESSIONABLE youths.

YOU kag, are a prime example of how these youths wind up thinking after a full indoctrination of liberal teachings. You're so fully indoctrinated yourself, that you can hardly concieve the conservative view point on this matter, even though the matter to understand has been purported to you in a simple and concise manner.

SO the only responsible thing is to present both sides.

Instead of undertaking something that is obviously divisive and actually anti U.S., why not spend the same energy in studying the Bill of Rights or the Declaration of Independence.

I would much prefer my child learn the true history of our country and the thoughts and principals of our founding fathers than trying to figure out how our sitting president is a war criminal.

I'm not quite sure you have a right to say that I cannot conceive the conservative viewpoint on this subject. I used to be conservative and I was liberal once too. I can see the viewpoint on either side.

When it comes to my own beliefs, I've rejected both conservative and liberal teachings. I'm not indoctrinated by either side any longer as I examine something to see if I agree or disagree with it if that is something to be done. I forumlate my opinions by facts.

Are they going out and saying that Bush is guilty? To me, from what I've read, they are exploring the possibility he is. If the guy belives that Bush is, then it's his prerogative, but as far as I'm concerned, they're only exploring possibilities.

How about innocent until proven guilty? That's how justice should work.

I think this is a brilliant assignment, and so was a mock impeachment trial of President Clinton. I realize you righties are terrified of teachers who actually want to teach kids to think critically rather than take whatever Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity say as the absolute truth.

It is teachers like this who will provide us with the next generation of young people who will truly be equipped to lead. We need more teachers like this helping students to understand how to look at an any issue through critical eyes, how to analyze information from the media, and how to think for themselves rather than simply letting someone else tell you what to think be it Rush Limbaugh or Al Franken.

When you use the word "critical" here, Acludem, don't you really mean "liberal" since you take such great pains to contrast it with what they might hear from Rush or Sean?

This "trial" is nothing more than a liberal teacher trying to indoctrinate the kids with liberal thinking so they'll vote right in the future (how did you put it--"It is teachers like this who will provide us with the next generation of young people who will truly be equipped to lead." This teacher is also using a bunch of impressionable kids to ignite a fire under an issue that he hopes will become a reality.

The last paragraph in the article Insein posted about the verdict being kept secret--the kids would be asked not to tell others--is just too hilarious for any adult to take seriously.

Think critically? This is teaching kids to lynch first and ask questions later.

I have the "right" to say whatever I please. However, getting past your bad choice of words, possibly you can see both sides. Never the less, your opinions always coincide with only ONE side... the LIBERAL side. Thus, I stick by my statement, you've been thoroughly indoctrinated into the liberal state of mind.

That's not what's going on, and you "should" know it. Again, your mind thinks in liberal wave lengths. For this class to hold a "mock trial", they must first assume the President Bush has been "charged" with war crimes. It's a blatant insinuation that he's guilty, by a Bush hating, liberal teacher, pushing his own liberal agenda in a school to impressionable kids. This is so black and white and easy to see what's going on. It irritates me every time you liberals defend this bullshit as if it's some sort of legitimate activity, when in reality, it's nothing more than one more liberal pulling his crap.

Exactly!

Perhaps we should arrange for a mock trial of ACLUDEM's family members on charges of child molestation and interstate transportation of child porn. That would be educational, no?

Don't project your liberal crap on us.

Uh, no. You only think I am indoctrinated to the liberal state of mind only by what you've seen on my stance on gay issues.

You'd be singing a whole different tune if this was Clinton before anything had been brought up against him. I guarantee it.

I'm defending the right to examine possibilities on the issue. I'm not defending the issue they're discussing. Maybe to them, they feel they have enough evidence to explore such possibilities. Then it's more of them looking over to see the what if's. If they don't really have that feeling, then yes, I'll agree it's an agenda driven issue.

They would of had a good reason to hold a mock trial for Clinton, so hummm, I wonder why they didn't use him? President Bush has not been charged with a crime. This is total liberal bullshit, just like their fake impeachment hearing that the stupid liberal ADULTS ARE DOING. They would be hearing from me if they we're doing this in my kids class. :bat:
