Do not confuse people doing bad things with the MAGA Patriots though. I don't know a single Patriot who would condone militias, armed or not, threatening any law abiding people, let along FEMA volunteers. The world has its share of crazies who hold a wide variety of erroneous beliefs and concepts and who do evil. They exist on the left and right.

But if the news account is correct, and I have no reason to believe it is not, I would hope the authorities would be able to apprehend and neutralize the crazies as there is nothing to commend or justify their behavior.

I cannot imagine any scenario that would warrant armed militia intimidating or threatening FEMA volunteers unless they were physically mistreating people.

I can imagine also a weaponized government lying about the circumstances to cover up its own incompetence and/or malfeasance and using it as an excuse to suppress or even arrest those who criticize it.

I have been highly critical of an incompetent and feckless government that puts far more importance on DEI than it does on integrity, competence, effectiveness. But I won't condone inappropriate strong arming by its critics if that in fact happened.
