Some student-loan borrowers are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel after years of payments.


Earlier this month, President Donald Trump's administration began sending emails to some borrowers on income-based repayment plans notifying them that they're eligible to have their loans discharged.

IBR plans give borrowers monthly payments based on their incomes, with the promise of forgiveness of any remaining debt after 20 or 25 years. While the Department of Education did not specify how many borrowers are eligible for this round of forgiveness, 2 million borrowers were enrolled in IBR plans in the second quarter of 2025, according to Federal Student Aid data.

I’m not jealous of their cash cows, one question, if all these people have such high IQs, then why are they $1.7 trillion in debt? 42.7 million Americans have a student debt of $1.6 trillion. 1.3 million have a debt of $0.1 trillion.

59% of Americans have paid off their student loans, 33% are current with their loans, 8% are delinquent. There is no big issue, it is people like yourself that are making it a big issue.

I have invested millions in my businesses and bought classes to further my education, I invested in myself and my ideas, that is the American way, some of the things I did failed and I had to pay back loans and it hurt but government bailing me out of my own problems is not their responsibility. I am not owed anything by my government and students not getting paid in college is an investment in their future. Those that go to college make on average over a million more than high school grads, why do we need to bail them out?
