IMO, Trump wants a deal, but isn't going to take a bad deal, which is all Iran will offer. Let the strikes begin anew, send in SOF and CIA to assassinate Regime leaders arm the Iranian citizens and overthrow the totality of the Regime.

Trump will have Iran wrapped up before the mid terms. Oil prices will head down. People will see costs going down as well. So what are the Democrats going to run on, Bob? To the bolded: Tariffs were never one dimensional, and most Conservatives understand this and the long game involved.

The primary benefits of tariffs are to bring back US manufacturing and even the trade imbalances. That takes time. Throw in the war and things get a bit complicated, but the dust will settle.

To your midterm assessment, the minority party does historically win back one of the chambers at midterms, typically the House. However, if the Iran thing is tied up before midterms, things should significantly change, including low approval ratings.

IMO, aside from TDS, the reason the Left is rooting against Trump success in Iran is because it will be a huge history making event that will end up with Trump as one of the most consequential presidencies in recent history. And even before that, he already is.
