According to the USC Dornsife/LA Times poll, Trump is now leading over Hillary Clinton, 44.9 percent to 43.3 percent.

The LA TImes poll is a bit of an experiment. Rather than poll people randomly, they poll the same group of 2500 people or so, over and over and over again.

So far the results have been very different than random polling.

So far the results have been very different than random polling.

Panels are not that unusual. They weigh however, very differently, for smaller subsets, and for self reported past voting in 2012. There are very nice detailed analyses on 538 and other sites, showing the effects of these different method steps.
