Speaking of the "day after Hamas", I'm thinking Israel will likely put into place something like we did in Japan post WWII.
Israel will rule over the territory, utilizing a strong figure like we did with MacArthur. I suspect however, they will never completely leave the territory.

I think Israel will maintain security control over Gaza long term, but try not to be involved is issues that do not threaten Israel's security, much as they do in Judea and Samaria.
