Another city finds out what happens when they listen to progressives.

NBC Nightly News featured on Thursday the ramifications of the Vermont city of Burlington having significantly cut funding to its police department last year as part of the “Defund the Police” movement.

“In Burlington, Vermont, roll call looks a little different than it used to,” narrated NBC News correspondent Stephanie Gosk. “Often just five officers are on shift for a city of more than 44,000 after Burlington’s leaders cut the police force by nearly 30 percent, essentially imposing a hiring freeze.”

Murad said that exit interviews from departing police officers “have been pretty clear that it was about a lack of support in a political sense and a sense of saying that I – this is not how I want to serve anymore.
I don’t feel valued.’

you fools....

It would appear NBC News was looking for a sensational story to impress the trump Nazis.

The city's leaders and its citizens should expect the program to take time to establish. It is unfortunate the way most Americans ignore problems for decades. Then, they expect the solution(s) to immediately make everything rosy.

This is the singular reason our many government-controlled programs are so fvcked up. The blame should not fall on the bureaucrats, it should fall on the leaders that appoint their unqualified cronies to be those bureaucrats, and the voters that elect the liars that are also unqualified to do the jobs they're elected to do.

The last person U.S. voters will consider as their candidate is an honest man or woman. Speeches and political ads that are truthful make the vast majority of U.S. voters uncomfortable. So, successful U.S. politicians only tell the voters what they want to hear, and the last thing U.S. voters in both parties want to hear is the truth.

Negative, it would have been very easy not to cut their PD by 30% by simply not doing it.

No, it was likely about like everyplace else that did it and are suffering the same or worse consequences now.

A loud-mouthed minority of BLM blacks and white guilt ridden ugly white women "demanded it" and through coercion (threats of riots) they knuckled-under when they should have told them to fuck-off and then had them arrested for threats of violence instead.

If they started any shit then a liberal application of hickory shampoo would have been called for and applied.

Cities like Boston, though dem run, said fuck that noise and refused to geld their PD and they enjoy a crime rate comparable to a gop run city, even slightly better than a couple of like population.

How is treating crime as not being crime, and criminals as not responsible for their actions due to hedgey academic social theories going to solve the "problem"?

We shouldn't be saying "fuck the police". We should be screaming "fuck the criminals".

Criminals should be afraid of the police and afraid of judges that sentence them. If you don't break the law you have nothing to worry about.

After reading your rambling and nonsensical diatribe, I think you also have a problem hearing the truth.

And this is something Conservatives have known all along. It's unfortunate that we have to pay the price for progressive lunacy.

Vermont, once a state, is now a subsidiary of New York City. Where registered voters drive up from NYC to cast ballots and then drive home. Real Vermonters have sold out to rich Noo Yawkers wanting summer places and ski cottages. You want a real Vermonter these days? Look in Florida. Burlington reaped what it sowed. It's time for them to shut up and suck it up.
