It won't.

I'm pretty sure it's going to get an overwhelming majority approval in polling.

The measure has about 70-75% approval in Sweden and Finland and I'd imagine polls in the US would put approval somewhere between 62-70% here at home.

It also appears to be widely approved of in the EU countries.

Barring something really unforeseen this looks like a done deal and a very good deal for the west as well as the Russian People as Putin and his successors won't be able to do what they've done in Ukraine again once all of western and southern Europe are aligned.
