National Strike Called for Jan 23: ICE out of Minn

Yawn. More old washed out hippies from the sixties out stomping their petty little feet. Again.

So ******* what.
Exactly.

People with actual jobs are not going to strike to defend illegal aliens that the Democrats want to give their jobs to.

The demonstrators, if any, that the media covers today for "striking" will the same well-funded "protesters" that have been harassing and assaulting federal officers since Trump took office. It will not be actual workers shutting down businesses by not showing up for work, because they don't show up for any jobs in the first place.

I am not really understanding Greenland. I don't see it as much of a strategic issue. I really think it is the minerals, especially the rare earths. And I am not understanding the problem there. First, Denmark does not control Greenland's mineral resources, Greenland does. And they have already contracted out the rights to several rich rare earth deposits. Commercial production is a way off, they desperately need to scale infrastructure. But already, we are promised 25% of all rare earth minerals, devoted specifically to the defense industry.
We want it all!

I see a forecast high of 8 below tomorrow in Minneapolis. I'll call that a weather strike. Everyone stays home until warmer weather, maybe spring.
The weather will be the big story nationally. Bad day to have a strike for a cause but the strike will get in just ahead of the winter storm.

Wages havent moved for non-college grads (working class) since the 90's. Biden nor Trump meaningfully moved those numbers up or down so you post is another troll lie. Maybe your legs are too short for you to see the data?

Workers share of GDP is way down and wages have been stagnant for all except college grads.

Recent data under Trump

Real U.S. wages have increased, with wage growth recently outpacing inflation, leading to higher purchasing power for many workers. As of late 2025, inflation-adjusted wages have shown gains, particularly for low- and middle-income earners. Key drivers include a tight labor market and significant, widespread state-level minimum wage increases.
Key Wage Growth Trends (2024–2025):
  • Real Earnings Growth: From July 2024 to July 2025, real average hourly earnings rose by 1.2%.
  • Outpacing Inflation: From December 2024 to December 2025, nominal wages grew by 3.8%, while inflation was 2.7%, resulting in a 1.1 percentage point gain in real wages.
  • Sector Performance: In the 12 months ending in September 2025, private industry compensation costs increased by 3.5%, with wages/salaries for those workers rising 3.6%.
  • Minimum Wage: Over 8.3 million workers received a raise on January 1, 2025, due to state-level minimum wage increases, with 19 states implementing higher pay floors.
  • Long-Term Trend: Real median weekly wages in Q1 2025 were 19% higher than in Q1 1985.

75% of all US GDP is produced in Blue Counties that voted for Harris. Production happens when liberals work, nothing happens when conservatives collect the majority of welfare in red states.

Uh oh. There you go again. Democrats in red states and Democrats across the country collect the majority of state and federal assistance in this country. You guys love to tout the red v blue state metrics but conveniently leave out that red states have many very poor Democrats and not enough ultra-wealthy Republicans to make up for them. It is Democratic counties in red states that are the issue. I live in an affluent area of my state. The median income is twice the national median. We are overwhemingly Republican. These are educated working professionals, not ultra-wealthy trust fund baby types. Head across the tracks if you want to find the Democrats.

Don’t tell me you didn’t know that the poorest of the poor and the richest of the rich are heavily Democratic. The poor because they want some freebees and the ultra-rich(not you) because they protect their wealth by pushing for tax hikes for the “rich”, but not the ultra-rich. It’s funny that you haven’t figured out this dynamic yet.

True professionals don’t take a day off to protest with the pierced, pink-haired crowd. Says a lot about you.

The strike will be mostly the unemployed

THAT'S the money shot. THAT is what will reverse these negative long term trends.

And this is still SOOOOO EARLY.

It takes time to turn around a big economy. To see positive results this quickly is SHOCKING.

Shocking good news.

Even if it just stays like this, that is a win right there, but more likely is that it BUILDS and ACCELERATES as the better policies gain more and more ground.

For one example, deportations are continuing unabated. THIRD WORLD COMPETITION for jobs, is contining to drop. Every new job created, is PILING on the good effects,

THIS IS ******* GREAT.

OK, **** you. You are the supporter of a child rapist and Russian imperialism. The Greenland issue is simply Trump responding to Putin's orders to destroy NATO.
You are the dumbest of the Low-IQ democrats.
1. Link proving who is the "child rapist" is. (Biden and Ashley?)
2. Link provong who supports Russian imperialism . (Biden said a "small incursion would be okay")
3. NATO is stronger because of Trump dumbass,

Strikes against employers are never a bad thing. But a strike for political stuff? Not seeing it.

And you wonder why the working class share of income and wealth has plummeted to all time lows. They remain the lone organizing unit in this country capable of providing resistance to tyranny.
Share of income nice commie talk! My earnings should not be SHARED with anyone taxes are bad enough

You triggered AGAIN?

For a big shot business guy who has such a well paid job, you do spend a great deal here bellowing liberal talking points

Still the same

Different board. Different name. Still the same tough talking Sopranos want to be

Yes, there is a call for a general strike on January 23, 2026, organized by labor unions, faith leaders, and community groups to protest Immigration and Customs Enforcement actions, with calls for people to stay home from work, school, and shopping. While centered in Minnesota, there are appeals for workers across the U.S. to support this action to demand the removal of ICE from the state.

Key Details:
  • Date: January 23, 2026.
  • Location: Primarily Minneapolis, Minnesota, with broader calls for national participation.
  • Organizers: Various unions (like ATU Local 1005, SEIU Local 26) and community/faith groups.
  • Reason: In response to ICE actions and the death of Renee Nicole Good, demanding ICE removal from Minnesota.
  • Action: A "no work, no school, no shopping" day to show solidarity and protest.
