Nationwide shutdown

My daughter had her midterm in Philosophy today. I pity any kids who decided to skip that class.

Nah, just kidding. Woke numnuts should flunk out and have to get real jobs!

Flunk out of what?

Wasn't this supposed to happen on January 23rd?
Well, what I saw was today.
And it was an utter failure. Like every point the Left tries to make, they screwed it up completely.
I finally got into Target late today and the pharmacist, who's a friend, told me she'd never seen it so busy.
So much for yet another stupid Leftist idea that stinks like a skunk. Another failure.

That they (school staff) posted it in our local school has resulted in much drama ~S~

Due to the new batch of snow that my city is getting right now, I had no other choice, but to grocery shop earlier today.

God bless you always!!!

I think they'll find out most people are not on board with the extreme left behind this. Sure, the organizers will work with the MSM to make it look big, but we all know how the entire left rolls by now. And the protesters must be paid or they don't show up. But if they must refrain from showing up to work shouldn't they also refrain from showing up to be paid to protest? Irony is always lost on the left.
Since when have these insurrectionist ever had jobs? All old people or people hair nose ring people.

The federal government can enforce immigration law—but it cannot jail governors, mayors, or sheriffs for refusing to do the federal government’s job for it. The Supreme Court has been clear on that for decades.

Key precedent (settled law, not controversial):
  • New York v. United States
  • Printz v. United States
  • Murphy v. NCAA (2018 – reaffirmed and strengthened the rule)

Under these cases, Congress may enforce federal law itself, but it may not:
  • Order state or local officials to participate
  • Criminalize their refusal to assist
  • Punish them for following state law instead of federal preferences

There is a fine line between refusing to help and obstructing. Remaining neutral is one thing, but there are several examples of sanctuary cities obstructing.

Again, why would you be in favor or protecting those that are in this country illegally? I just can’t understand that.

15th post
I went shopping with a friend. Three shopping centers and a Costco. Then out to lunch. Nothing was closed. Everyone was busy. Not a protester to be found.

Support for a nationwide shutdown and protest planned for back-to-back days this week is growing across the U.S. and New York state.

Organizers of the event are asking people to skip work and school as well as refrain from doing any shopping on Friday, Jan. 30, and take to the streets in protest on Saturday, Jan. 31, to speak out against recent immigration enforcement actions taking place across the country.

Here's what to know.

Tensions across the country have been high since two people were shot and killed by federal agents in Minneapolis, Minnesota earlier this month.

Renee Good was fatally shot on Jan. 7 by U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement agent Jonathan Ross, USA TODAY reported. The shooting came amid an ICE action in Minneapolis, Minnesota, when the 37-year-old mother of three drove her SUV forward near Ross after being told to exit her vehicle. Widely seen footage of the deadly encounter has sharply divided the country.

Comment:
USA Today is a part of the Democrat Party Left Wing propaganda machine.
"Here is what to (really) know"
All counties control their border crossings and immigration.
This is not something new or racist.
There is no other country on our planet that would allow 20+ million unvetted people to illegally cross their border.
The Far Left Democrats and their hand maiden Media are lying about this whole situation.
This is about the Democrat Party's greed for power, it is not about compassion for immigrants.
This is about more Democrat voters, and they are lying about what this really going on.
Mainstream Americans should counter strike by boycotting the companies that participate in the "Day of action"
Great all the unemployed democrats will not show up for work

There is a fine line between refusing to help and obstructing. Remaining neutral is one thing, but there are several examples of sanctuary cities obstructing.
No there are not. There have been ZERO convictions in this country against city leaders "obstructing" federal immigration as part of their official job. One judge got convicted of helping a fugtitive from immigration avoid being picked up in Wisconsin in a private decision but that is it. Protesting is legal, not obstructing, and local cops are not protesting.

If there was widespread obstruction happening there would be wide spread convictions. There are not. You are being lied to. Why cant you figure this stuff out?
Again, why would you be in favor or protecting those that are in this country illegally? I just can’t understand that.
I am 100% for deporting ACTUAL felony criminals. I am not for deporting someone who has a speeding ticket or some minor infraction like that. Trump is deporting people who have made VALID claims of asylum before they get any hearing. 95% of asylum applicants show up to their hearing.

Why punish 95% of Asylum applicants because 5% might not show up? It is not Chicago PDs job to find that 5% anyway. It is ICEs and they arent finding them harassing citizens at gas stations or shooting people protesting about harassing citizens and deporting asylum applicants.

I think if you really dug into the details you would agree with me.

Honestly watch this:
