You can't believe that because you're probably not affected at all. But women will be made second class citizens because they don't even have control over their own reproductive Rights.

How do you figure that? Most women I know had full control over their reproductive rights. If they had sex for fun only, they took precautions not to get pregnant. You can't have much more control than that.

That would be a horrible mistake. The whole abortion issue should not be a matter of law or the courts. It's a medical issue best decided by the women involved and their doctors. Having anyone else get involved just complicates the process. Despite what many posters are saying on here abortion is never an easy decision. It's a difficult one, and anyone else getting involved in it just makes it more difficult.

It's the pro abortion people that made it a court issue in the first place when they fought to have their case heard by the Supreme Court and won. That prohibited states that didn't want abortions to have them legal against the will of their leaders and voters.

If overturned it will return that power back to the states. If you live in a state that's anti-abortion they can make all abortions illegal if they want. If you live in a state that supports pro-choice then they can have abortions right up to the day of birth.

In short, the overturning of RvsW only empowers the state to do what they want on the issue.

All women will be made second class citizens if this is done away with. This type of law victimizes all types of women, single, married, if you don't have control over your own body you are a second class citizen. Imagine if the state came out and said men cannot masturbate anymore, they cannot have sex outside of marriage, and they can only have sex when they are attempting to procreate. This is as absurd as some of the abortion laws the states will be trying to pass.

It is absurd.

It’s also beyond the scope of government authority.

Regardless of one’s position on abortion, it is neither the role nor responsibility of the state to dictate to citizens how to conduct their personal, private lives.

Those opposed to abortion need to find a solution to end the practice that doesn’t violate a woman’s right to privacy.

The only abortions those opposed to abortion have a right to prevent is their own. No one can have autonomy over another person. At least that's the way it's supposed to be in a free country.

Which is why I despise both parties who doesn't do the right thing.

Compromise is the only path all else is already a failure.

Fuck You McConnell!
Agreed

McConnell is being an extremist

Compromise is necessary on this issue

Roe was an acceptable middle ground. Even though it was wrongly legislated from the bench

Congress COULD enact Roe into law, but the chances of getting Congress to agree on ANYTHING (except continuing resolutions) are slim to none (and Slim left town).

A national ban will never happen. The turtle is an idiot who needs to lose his leadership position. This is nothing more than an election talking point for a party that has nothing but bad ideas.

Yep, but you would hope that our federal government would be moral enough to still have some rules governing abortion's in as far as it going beyond a line to far, and this within the state's who would opt for the abortion procedure right up to the end of the 9th month.

Republicans keep attacking American citizens, restricting their rights, that's about as bad as it gets.

‘Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said a national abortion ban could be "possible" if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade.
[…]
In an interview with USA Today published on Saturday…McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, said Thursday that a national ban on the procedure would be "possible" if the court overturns the case.’

Again, Republicans aren’t going to stop with just overturning Roe.
He needs to STFU. Is McConnell paid by the DNC?

The Republican party is very conflicted, they think they are promoting citizens rights but supporting any type of abortion bill has to be the most intrusive bill on rights there is. They never did make any sense.

Control over your own body doesn't start with the choice to an abortion. The choice starts with using birth control which is readily available around every corner. The choice starts with not letting the dick in the vag if no condom. The choice starts with better decisions around sex, sexual partners, and a whole host of other choices.

Again, pregnancy is not like cancer that a woman gets without warning. We have to stop treating pregnancy like it's some mystical, physical malformity with no known cause. Hell, masturbation is better than having an unwanted pregnancy. There are so many other ways to enjoy "Sex" than vaginal. If a woman is with a man or someone with a dick, and they don't have a condom, don't have vaginal intercourse. Oral, anal, foot jobs, boob jobs, hand jobs. So many other CHOICES can be made that an abortion should literally not even be a question.

How about the right to not have sex if no birth control or have sex so many different ways than vaginal intercourse. Jesus Christ... people are so dumb.

It's very sensible. Show us where this right to abortion is. I'll tell you what: show us the debate by our founders or editors of the Constitution about abortion. It doesn't exist.

So what laws are you talking about here? This has nothing to do with any law, this has to do with the determination of constitutional rights. Again, the overturning of RvW only means there are no constitutional protections of abortion, and there isn't unless you can show me where that is.

Tenth Amendment:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

So the actual debate is about following the Constitution, not any law until the states create their own laws on the matter.

Most likely .itch trying to appease women making this hollow statement on behalf of his Republican associates. Hope they don't fall for it again. Women have the power to vote all Republicans out of office. November could be very regretful for Republican nominees of all sorts.

You mean they will vote for the party that's giving babies of illegals formula American women can't get? The party that brought back forcing schools to allow weirdos in dresses to compete in female athletics where their daughters are severely disadvantaged?

Abortion is a seriously divided issue, but not the most important one in the eyes of women. You don't give them enough credit. What they are looking at is what it costs them now to fill up their SUV they use to haul their family in. They are looking at their huge increase in their grocery bill. What it cost them last winter to keep themselves and their family warm.

Only younger and more irresponsible females will be outraged by this, and they were never going to vote Republican anyway. The Democrat party is the party of irresponsible people and weirdos.
