The title says it all. I'd start off, but I'd rather hear other people's opinions rather than my own.

Just one? So many. Let's start with Milton Friedman who proved that Federal Reserve monetary policy was the major contributor to the Great Depression. More later.

Milton Friedman is the man and so far in first that it don't matter who is in second

Paul Krugman, for the jokes, I know he's just fucking with you, I find his columns hysterically funny

Can we dig up Keynes, bring him back to life, and kill the bastard?

You beat me to it. He also explained economics in a way that was very accessible to the lay person.

It's too bad we didn't adopt his Chilean Model here in the U.S. We'd be in much better shape.

Murray Rothbard because he was uncompromising, consistent, and made the Austrian school what it is today.

Well, you beat me to it. Except I was going to say ME, because I have never studied economics. As I say it, No Micro, NO macro and no outside reading. I come from my own school of common sense economics that says, "if the theory stinks like Scat, then it is Scat." Most of the cerebral theories are scat in one way or another.
