Do loud vehicles equate to their owner's having a lower IQ?

I know that the "loud pipes saves lives" Harley crowd are "off" but what about the PU, rice burner, and other assorted motorists out there spewing noise pollution?

Even back in the muscle car days I never considered the owners to be very bright.

Me, I'd just rather not have anyone know I'm coming....Till it's too late. ;)

I've always had vast respect for BMW bike riders.....20 of them could pass by and they are so quiet you would not have known they were even there unless you saw them.

Damn, it might be worse than I first thought!

I though the real idiots were those back in the early 1970's who drove cars having their back ends jacked up.

When I was young, all the kids in my neighborhood used to take their baseball cards and fix them with clothes pins to the rear frame so they clicked the spokes to make noise.

We were bad asses.

Some of those baseball cards might be worth thousands today if we hadn`t destroyed them. Who knew?

Muscle car owners are little boys who refuse to grow up.

But when I was that age they were "cool". You don't see many on the road today.

LOL.....The big thing was to cruse around the "Comet" eatery, if your motor didn't turnover but six times in the process you were cool. ;)

I was a Jeep guy back then.

I'm German and I drive a German car but I really like Triumph bikes more than BMW. I just like their class and style. BMW is right up there with Triumph on my list however. I remember when you could get a brand new Russian made Ural (military style BMW clone) with a sidecar for well under $10k. They were cool too.

I really wanted the Ural Sidecar but the wife was not having any of it. ;)

The local dealer had one in Russian green!

This paragraph explains everything.

Julie Aitken Schermer, a psychology and management professor at Western University in London, Ontario, decided to conduct the study after noticing the number of loud cars that sped by as she walked her dog. "Every day, we come across these loud cars and pickup trucks and motorcycles that are backfiring, and I get startled. My dog was startled. I see the animals run away that are in the trees and squirrels on the ground," she told CBC.

Those psychopaths with their loud cars frightened her little doggie! :auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg::auiqs.jpg:

Indeed, I think it's much smarter to travel stealthily than to put on a show to get attention.

With that said, if I was given a choice between a submachine gun and a silenced semi-auto to secure my perimeter, I'd take the latter every time.

I don't recall the last time I've heard a car backfire. Pretty much went away with the carburetor.

Unless they are just using tips, exhausts add performance.
That includes a Harley.

LOL....I was looking at suppressors yesterday.....I'm waiting for the Lyman line to come back out, as they are less half the price of most of them, just very plain.

No way am I paying $700 for a .30 - 9mm can....I'll just get dedicated .30 and 9mm cans for less than just one "one size fits most" can.

Difference between intelligence and maturity. As a young man I loved a fast loud car and loud music. I was not dumb just immature. Now I appreciate a quieter life but I do not regret the fast paced loud life I had when I was younger. Sometimes out of nostalgia I Ican still appreciate some of those things for a short period of time. Yes I miss the days of old at times.

What about today? Don't they sell them anymore or they got to become too expensive?

That still does not account for old-ass "biker bobs".

It just means they are assholes, and that spans the whole spectrum of intellect.
