My Temporary Absence

My fellow members,
I need to be away from the board for a while, at least a week or two.
I’m sure you all know that my wife’s family was hit heavy by Hurricane Katrina.
Well, I’ve just been informed that my Aunt, who has cancer, is trapped near
Houston.While visiting a relative she was admitted to the local hospital and
her liver has now shut completely down. She is only semi-conscious and has
days to live.We have made every effort to get her transferred well in
advance with no luck.The hospital has now been evacuated and any care she
can get will be from family.I’m not a religious man by all means but please
send your thoughts our way in any form to help us out. I’ll check in when I
can, and maybe give you all an update if I’m up to it.

She can be moved, but not that far. All hospitals within her range are full.
We still might have to fly her somewhere else. We fear a massive power loss
after the storm.

If she only has days to live, why put her through that? I would guess she'd rather go with family, in a comforting surrounding.
