Musk says trump will crash the economy for our own good.

Sure it is, musk never said that. He was responding to a multi point quote from someone else and said “sounds about right”. Musk never said “the markets will tumble”.
Then tell us....

What did musk agree was right, when he answered, That sounds about right?

The difference is, the guy rattled off a few different things and musk said “sounds about right” and then the article tries to attribute the quote “markers will tumble” directly to Elon as having said them.
What were these other rattled off things?

He says High prices and economic collapse are the price of the trump agenda.

Are you guys really gonna vote for this just to "own the libs"?

It would be the biggest self-own in history to crash your own country's economy on purpose just to be able to say you won.

Who wouldn’t be willing to have some temporary hardships for long time prosperity?

He agreed there could be temporary hardships for long term prosperity

Did you not even read the link?

Well, first you have to understand the phrase “sounds about right”, which is used when the person speaking thinks something may be right, but is unsure, or maybe they agree with parts of the statement but just uses that phrase as a blanket statement. Sometimes people use that statement as a way of saying “whatever”.

If someone throws multiple things at you and you latch on to one or two of them, you might say “sounds about right” to those, but just answer in general.

My point is, they are trying to say Elon said it, but he didn’t say it. Nuance!

What were these other rattled off things?

On Tuesday, Musk agreed with a social media post on his X platform that Trump’s proposals will have a “severe” economic impact.

“If Trump succeeds in forcing through mass deportations, combined with Elon hacking away at the government, firing people and reducing the deficit — there will be an initial severe overreaction in the economy,” @FischerKing64 wrote on X. “This economy propped up with debt (generating asset bubbles) and artificially suppressed wages (as a result of illegal immigration). Markets will tumble. But when the storm passes and everyone realizes we are on sounder footing, there will be a rapid recovery to a healthier, sustainable economy

All of that..

And how does that differ with economic collapse to build it back up again, oh wise one?
Didn’t say it did. Anyone not willing to accept a little temporary hardship for long term prosperity is garbage

Correct, he didn't directly say it, he just agreed with whomever said it, or as you surmise, some of it.

(And there is no "some" of it that is good.)

Look at the high prices after Trump fucked us over with Covid-19

I'm sorry, only a FOOL or billionaire who can shelter himself and family, would think a minimum of 10 years of economic collapse is the way to make America better! :cuckoo:

Trump's plan adds an estimated $4 TRILLION more to the National debt over 10 years than all the feel good Harris proposed, economic plans. That's a fact!

Tell you what. Take all you want out of YOUR Social Security and Medicare.

Leave mine the **** alone
Trump is going to shut down your PIG'S TROUGH OF MONEY LAUNDERING OPERATIONS IN UKRAINE.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
:dev3:

Economic suffering and collapse brings civil unrest and raises crime, through the roof, with no money for Police.

No where is he quoted as saying it will take ten years. It might, but he’s not quoted as saying that in the OP.

Long term prosperity makes America better. To suggest otherwise is garbage

The U.S. economy has been unsustainable ever since Ronald Reagan convinced Republicans that it was possible to cut taxes, raise military spending and balance the budget without cutting middle class entitlements.

Republicans still have not learned. Donald Trump promises to cut taxes and raise military spending. He claims that this will balance the budget through economic growth.
You're attempting to deflect and blame Republicans for the situation without answering the question, so I will repeat myself:

"We all know the economy is on an unsustainable track and will eventually crash if we continue. What would you do to make that crash as painless as possible?"

Seriously, how would you make the oncoming crash as painless as possible? Have you even thought about that, or are you only interested in taking pot shots at Republicans and anything they propose to fix it? In case you missed it, the democrats are not interested in avoiding the crash at all.

Long term prosperity does make America better.

Economic collapse, does not, and never will.
