Great. The problem here is that none of this is ever going to be resolved to everyone's satisfaction. Each group will not back down (and why should they?) Hey, I have an idea! The Muslims can have all the religious displays they want... in traditionally Muslim countries, where they came from. America, founded by Christians, can remain Christian.

This stuff used to piss me off, but now it's just a common occurance. With all this shying away from sticking to the country's traditional Christian roots (And spare me the "theocracy" BS. There was school prayer for 200 years, and SOMEHOW the Republic managed to survive) and feeling the inexplicable need to embrace the religion that wants to see us dead, I wonder about the future of the nation.

While the government should not MANDATE any religion, it has an intrinsic interest in PROMOTING Christianity. The form of government was created with the idea that its people would, of their own volition, adhere to Christian principles. When the people stop doing this, demand increases for more laws and rules, thus sapping EVERYONE'S freedom, even the non-Christians'.

Hey WJ, on that we come closer together. At the present time, I do not feel we have too many diverse peoples, rather for the past 30-40 years, the groups have resegregated themselves into the tribes you speak of. This has reversed the historical trend in this country, to adapt to 'American ways and values'. I call it Balkanization, you may see it differently.

Silly! You can't have too much diversity! And nothing's falling apart. This is the first time in human history that all people have been able to live together equally. Previously in human history, one group has always dominated another group. The women's lib movement only happened in the last century and the civil rights movement began only 40 years ago! What we are seeing happening in America is an equalization. Obviously there are going to be clashes at first, but eventually the system will adapt to facilitate all types of people more efficiently.
