What insurrection? Trump got the proper permits for the rally and the intention was NEVER to overthrow or interrupt any process of government but to let the people's desire be known to delay certification of the election until the preliminary investigations could be complete. Tens of thousands of people there believed with all their hearts--most still do--that the election was corrupt and that Trump won. So did many millions of others who were not in DC that day.

Trump did not ask for, have in part in, or encourage a violent riot, breaking or entering. The verdict is still out on who did instigate that and more than a few believe Pelosi, the FBI et al were complicit. I won't say that myself without hard evidence, but I sure won't rule it out either given her taking the opportunity to use the occasion for a photo op for herself and her daughter with a video camera there to oblige her.

And it is 100% obvious that overthrow of the government was not the intent of the relative few who participated in the riot. Once inside they became calm and the Capitol Police were not at all alarmed at their presence and even accompanied/escorted them on a tour of the building. And all left the premises without further incident.

There was no insurrection. And I have to believe that only the most clueless and/or politically motivated continue to call it that. So far not a single person arrested and/or sentenced due to the events of Jan 6 has been charged with or convicted for participating in an insurrection.

FYI-Trump did not get the proper permits for the March down Pennsylvania Avenue, nor for the protest at the Capitol, where he sent his supporters. He only requested a permit for the Stop the Steal Rally, at the Ellipse.

4.
