You'll never know the actual numbers from China because they'll never publish them.
Hell we'll never know the actual number of Covid deaths in the US either because of how some states reported them. Internationally only those deaths confirmed as directly resulting form Covid infections were counted while here in the US some states were calling any at home death or cardiac related death as a Covid Death without so much as a test or autopsy finding.
In most others if you died from any cause but with a Covid diagnosis or positive test Covid killed you even if you jumped off of a bridge or died crashing your motorcycle head long into a semi.
Like it or not though Trump did everything possible to slow the spread and mediate the severity of the outbreak following the best advice of St. Fauci, the CDC, and NIH.
No president in the last hundred years had to deal with a similar outbreak and the necessary means to combat it did not exist before 2020, Trump and the private sector had to put this one together from the ground up and did an outstanding job of it.
In less than a year we ended up with an excess of ventilators we were able to ship to other countries to help them in their fight aganst Covid because they were not needed here.
Under his directly when the pandemic seemed poised to kill tens of thousands of New Yorker's a thousand ben hospital ship and a 10,000 bed Mash Hospital was set up to take the excess of NYC's patients but in fact neither were ever needed because NYC's hospitals never ran out of capacity.
Most importantly they got four vaccines approved for use in the US in under a year breaking all previous records an by the time he left office millions were already vaccinated and hundreds of millions of doses were on their way to distribution points all over the country and around the world.
No president before him ever had such a difficult health emergency nor responded in anywhere near as effective a manner covering the gamut from PPE, dispatching military personnel and hospitals to where they might most be needed, building hardware such as ventilators, or getting vaccines out for the public on a scale and as quickly as he managed to do.
What did Biden do with all of that in place? He's presided over more deaths in his first year than Trump did from day one of the first cases reaching the US to inauguration day.
