People used to look at runs scored + RBI. I am certain Rose went over 200 many years w/o looking it up. STL Cardinal had 5 guys over 200 but very few home runs. Coleman, Smith, McGee, Herr, ??Pendleton? Clark? Hendrix? Whomever?

For his career pete averaged 158 runs scored + RBI per 162 games. An ok number. Rickey henderson did 180 and lou gehrig 290.
