The other thing I did see on the video is how Byrd has himself and supposedly others in a room immediately adjacent to the barricaded doors. Yet, you can see quite a few other areas on his side of the door which were not used for shelter or to escape or barricade.

Bottom line, he was at the door and ready to shoot when he really did have other options.

The AF promotes slow. One of my classmates in EOD school was a AF E-3 with four years of service during Vietnam, Ivwas an E-3 with five months of Army service. He wasn’t a dud either, duds don’t make the cut for EOD school, short of Nuke propulsion school, it’s the hardest school in the military.

One explanation could be if she had previously been in a different branch and returned to active duty... which she did with the air national guard...
Or she had been demoted for some reason... I see that as unlikely or we would know that by now,,,

Depends. Every veteran is eligible for honors unless they were discharged other than honorable, convicted of a capital crime, or if their death brought discredit to the military.
