The Syrian and Iraqi Kurds, one official said, provided more intelligence for the raid than any single country.

The president did profusely thank Russia in his announcement, however. Even though they too did not participate militarily, Trump simply gushed and fawned all over them. He heaped praise on Putin’s army even before once mentioning the US troops who conducted the raid.

This was surprising, since Russia said they had nothing to do with the raid.

I wish to thank the Kurds for once again helping our country and our military. The President, as a Russian asset, consistently goes out of his way to harm both.

Trump could learn something about American patriotism from the Kurds.

Thanks the Russians first before his own military, informs the Russians, before his own Congress, exposes special operations techniques to the Russians during real time operations.

A traitor and an enemy of America.

No. Trump's actions threw Bagy off the scent and caught him with his pants down. We are not privy to all the behind closed doors planning that goes on such as REAL Russian involvement and cover stories given to un-named military officials to add to the deception. And the most important part was keeping the info away from Adam "blow the whistle Schiff" who would have screwed it up. So kudos to President Trump who orchestrated a successful operation against a truly evil man-every American should feel thankful and proud!

Still waiting for you to remove him from office! If the Democrats can accept a leader as bad as all that and not remove him from office, that makes THEM the traitors, incompetent and enemies of America! Can't Nancy do anything right???

Rump didn't have a solitary thing to do with the planing or the carrying out of the mission. Danged, he's a freeloader grabbing headlines. Any help he could have done is to shut his trap and do nothing. If that is what he did then he did the right thing. If he did anything else then he jeapordized the mission. Which is it?

Trump did kill the Muslim shit stain, the troops forced his true nature out... the cult of Islam.

So the troops do get the credit, nobody else... As with every Islam leader that gets killed.

Still true, every report we are getting is coming from Trump or the White House. Taking into account their propensity to lie, the convenience of Baghdadi's demise considering the strong criticism Trump has received from Republicans and others, I am not willing to accept Baghdadi's death until we hear from an independent source, any source other than Trump and the White House.

However, the irony of this operation -- if it happened -- is palpable.

Trump was criticized heavily by members of his own party, members of his own staff, and our military leaders for his cowardice after making the dishonorable decision to betray in important ally in Syria. Matters got only worse as Erdogan and Putin decided things for him, and Trump characterized his unconditional surrender to Turkey and Russia as great diplomatic victory.

Making matters worse, the Pentagon countermanded Trump's decision and upped the ante. The Pentagon decided to send in tanks, armor, and the requisite number of troops to guard the oil fields and deal with the ISIS terrorists who escaped as a consequence of Trump's decision to retreat.

In other words, contrary to what he said on Oct. 7 -- "We want to bring our troops back home” -- more troops than ever will be sent to Syria.

Amidst all this Trump proudly declares a military victory, the exact opposite of his intentions a few weeks ago.

Trump proudly described the military operation by the Joint Special Operations Command's Delta Team. He imagined Baghdadi's final minutes for his audience.
"He died like a dog. He died like a coward. The world is now a much safer place.".

Trump then described the situation as if he was there, saying the ISIS leader "spent his last moments in utter fear, in total panic and dread, terrified of the American forces bearing down on him." Trump loves melodrama to enhance the viewing pleasure of his audience, his gullible base.

No doubt Trump was enjoying his military victory.

The only question is, is it real or imagined?

Baghdadi has been killed many times in the past.

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has only appeared in public once since he declared himself emir (leader) of the Islamic State in June 2014.
