I’m not sure if it’s good, but it does seem like a lot of important people have classified information at their residences.

It seems so. ----Clinton 10 yrs ago, recently Trump, then Biden, now Pence. Who else?

Several observations:

• Any member of any Intel Committee or Department Head or Cabinet Member over the last 10 years needs to comb through their files in case there are one of these ticking-bombs buried away. They could be in those files due to the slack in the accounting system or otherwise.....but nonetheless, they need be retrieved and turned in.
• Next, a thorough re-tooling of the 'Classified Docs' protocols needs be undertaken pronto. Tighten up on all docs considered 'critical'....and perhaps, re-calibrate what should be 'classified'. There has been commentary that too much stuff....not all that important stuff.....gets the 'Classified' stamp on it, which could foster a lack of respect and carelessness towards them. Is that skepticism justified?
  But stuff determined to be critical ...or whatever DefCon4 label one puts on it..... needs to have a leash on it, and a siren too, so that some responsible entity knows what it is, how many exist, where they all are, and who currently possess 'em. And does periodic audits of the who-where and when....of 'em.
• And we need these Special Prosecutors to do their own comb-through of the docs, the people who had them or examined 'em, the circumstances of them being where they've been found, the legalities of not only possessing them but also the cooperation or lack-thereof in notifying and returning them. That applies to Biden, Trump, Pence, et al.
  
• The 'Classified Document' world needs a system upgrade. IMHO

CNM DISDISCOMBOBULATION: Before the Left completely try to rewrite history to their favor yet again, NARA had been in constant contact with Trump for over a year and he had been cooperating, even had them to his place once or twice where he adopted their recommendation for a better lock on his secure storage kept behind a locked gate guarded by the secret service. The question was not whether his records were secure, scattered, or at risk of foreign espionage, just that NARA wanted them. Then in the midst of further coordination, with no prior warning while he was away in New York State, they staged a raid of his place barring all cameras and even his attorneys being present while they made as much a publicly embarrassing media circus out of it as possible, even taking Trump's passport, taking pictures of alleged stacks of papers, all for the left's MSM circus as usual, never dreaming for a minute that just a few month's later that Joe Biden would be in a far worse situation having papers he clearly had no business EVER possessing, some up to sixteen years in clear violation of NSA and federal laws, had them all over the place in apparent reckless abandon, some with access to obviously scurrilous hostile actors. Now they've painted themselves into a corner with Biden after the way they railed about Trump's far less severe situation!
