I was commenting on the idea that if someone desired a more compassionate and thoughtful thread where others could express their condolences, the Lounge would have been a more appropriate venue. Personally, I don't have a problem with you putting it here in Politics. I was offering another way of expressing how it would be more productive for someone who wants to engage in a specific form of communication (thread), to use the multitude of resources the website offers, in order to avoid conversations they don't like and achieve their desires.

It's kind of like the local Antioch Baptist Church holding a revival at Fatso's Bar and Grill on $5 pitcher night during a wet t-shirt contest, might not be the best idea.
