I can't help but be surprised that those who ceaselessly criticised the war are now criticising a peace deal. It shows to go you this is not about war and peace, but the enduring and irrational hatred of Donald J Trump and everything he achieves regardless of the benefit to the United States and indeed the world.

He leaves an now-impotent country in absolute shambles and their reaction is a total victory for the Islamic state even though it had no option but to beg for a ceasefire and now peace as it invariably bowed down to the man and the countries that humiliated it.

It seems they were hoping for a "forever war".

• Protect Middle Eastern allies: To shield U.S. partner nations in the region from Iranian aggression and threats. [1, 2, 3]
• Cut off support for proxy groups: To stop the Iranian regime from funding, arming, and directing militant and terrorist proxy armies outside its borders. [1]

1. Even though Trump claimed to have "obliterated" Iran's nuclear program last year when he bombed their facilities, he now claims they're "two weeks away from a nuclear bomb. The fate of Iran's nuclear program will be negotiated.

2. Iran's still has missile capabilities.

3. Air and naval combat capabilities are still intact, albeit damaged.

4. Re-open the Straits. This will happen - after they remove the mines.

5. Protect Middle Eastern allies - Your allies are complaining about ongoing attacks.

6. Cut of funding for proxy groups. Yeah, with $325 billion, this time, that's no gonna happen.

So if Trump has failed utterly in his stated objectives, are you now prepared to concede that Trump has LOST this war?

Equally interesting is the fact that Trump bootlickers were giddy over the idea of demolishing the entire Iranian civilization but are now perfectly okay with the idea of ending the war with Iran mostly intact; still in control of the Strait; and still in possession of uranium.

What was accomplished? What Iran War goals were accomplished? Regime change? Nope. Liberation of "oppressed women?" No sir. Confiscation of enriched uranium? No ma'am.

About the only thing Trump can claim is that the Strait of Hormuz is now open -- which it was before Trump's war began.
