May 1 (less than 60 days later):

May 1: Mr. Trump rejected Iran’s latest proposal to end the war. “They want to make a deal, but I’m not satisfied with it,” he told reporters at the White House. On the same day, the president sent letters to Congress saying that hostilities with Iran “have terminated.”

We went from demanding an unconditional surrender of Iran to essentially surrendering ourselves.


Does anyone have any idea what we accomplished outside of Americans paying more for gas?

IMO, the main difference of opinion is not whether or not Iran is a threat, but how best to handle that threat.

As noted several times before, I favor collapsing them from the inside by fomenting dissent. It divides the Iranians, it avoids the complications of the Strait of Hormuz plus the damage done to Arab oil facilities and it's cheaper. The bad news is that it takes longer, but so what? It was working as Iran's mass murder of their own citizens proves.
