Up until yesterday I thought the Biden administration has done an outstanding job at striking the right balance between helping Ukraine defend itself against the completely unlawful Russian military invasion and not doing anything to bring about America being drawn into this brutal war. But the news I heard yesterday should change the calculation for President Biden it should move him to give the Ukrainians better weapons to fight this war! Yesterday, I learned from multiple media sources that Russia has removed four hundred thousand Ukrainian civilians from Ukraine and is moving them deep into Russia some have had their papers confiscated from them some have been forced to sign documents that they will provide free labor in Russia; the number here is not four thousand or forty thousand it is four hundred thousand and Putin's army controls less than fifteen percent of the country what happens when he controls thirty to forty percent of Ukraine the world will likely see millions of Ukrainians forcibly removed from Ukraine.
This mass removal of an indigenous people of a country to the victor's country in a war cannot be allowed to stand this is a line the world should not allow to be crossed; this is barbaric this is something humanity has seen in ancient times before there was international law and bodies like the United Nations to uphold such, it is not behavior which is tolerable in modern civilization! Make no mistake here what these carried off Ukrainians will be is slaves in Russia, O Russia is clever on paper they may give them rights but practically they will have no rights! The removed Ukrainians will have to work in work camps, many will have to be sex slaves and physical and sexual abuse of these Ukrainians will be rampant at the hands of Russians and their life expectancy will be very low; after these removed Ukrainians experience what is in store for them in Russia most of them will probably have preferred to have died in Ukraine! This is an accurate assessment of the hell that awaits these Ukrainians in Russia and the Free World should do everything it can to help the Ukrainians win this war as quickly as possible and thereby protect hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian civilians from suffering this awful fate!
Before this forced removal of civilians development it was completely understandable America's position not to give Ukraine Polish MiG combat planes and U.S. older vintage combat planes (like F15s or F16s) because it could have been interpreted by Russian President Putin as America intervening in the war (or as Russian propaganda calls it "armed conflict") between Russia and Ukraine and triggered a response of Russia using chemical, biological or tactical nuclear weapons against America or her allies. With this carrying off into Russia of massive number of Ukrainian civilians the American government must act on this committed and ongoing atrocity and try to stop it and create a deterrent against any future tyrant pulling such behavior that is an afront to civilization in the future. Getting the Ukrainian people these valuable combat planes will meet this needed response requirement. Sure there is a risk that Putin could retaliate with weapons of mass destruction over this move by the United States but sometimes the moral stakes involved warrant accepting the risks involved and further prudence calls for the assessment that the stability of the Putin regime is vulnerable because of this war which at minimum somewhat mitigates the risk; a lot of ordinary Russian families have lost sons in this foolish war of choice by Putin, a lot of Russian businesses cannot operate because of the war's sanctions and practically all Russians are negatively economically impacted by the effects of this war and as President Biden essentially said yesterday if Putin uses weapons of mass destruction the United States will respond in-kind which very well may be the trigger which moves the Russian people to rise up and bring about the removal of Vladimir Putin from leadership in Russia. Vladimir Putin has many character flaws but being stupid isn't one of them and at this juncture with the state of things with Russia it would be stupid for President Putin to use weapons of mass destruction against America or her allies because the response would put the survivability of Putin's Kremlin regime in grave danger! The United States must take meaningful further steps to stop this forced removal of hundreds of thousands and likely millions of Ukrainian civilians from Ukraine at the hands of the Russian government or the American people will never live down the guilt over our nation's inaction here over this atrocity!
