There is no such thing as being "compromised," by the right or left.

If you believe in allowing the voice of the people, and that the CITIZENS are the sovereign, not ruling elites, you abide by whatever they vote for their leaders.

There is only the will of the people.

I did not see anywhere in this analysis that North Korea is involved in astroturfing anything.

So we can assume that Russia had no effect on the outcome of the 2016 presidential election? If the left was so insistent that Russia mysteriously changed the outcome of that election, why do they scoff at the idea of North Korea interfering with South Korea's elections? That seems like quite the contradiction.

Agreed. No evidence of either TBH.

Yeah, here's a totally unbiased and believable source to 'splain it all for us. :laughing0301:

Those numbers are the will of the representatives of the people? That is an accurate count. Not even his own party is supporting his authoritarianism it would appear?

How about THIS source? The conservative pub. from Australia.

South Korea president to lift martial law order after parliament voted to block it

The speaker of the National Assembly declared the martial law declaration "invalid" and said politicians would "protect democracy with the people".

". . . Staff barricaded the doors of the building, in the capital Seoul, to try to stop the soldiers entering.

Inside however, politicians were able to hold a vote and unanimously decided by 190-0 to block the president's declaration.

According to the law, martial law must be lifted if the assembly votes against it - and police and soldiers were later seen leaving parliament.

Lee Jae-myung, who heads the opposition liberal Democratic Party, which holds the majority in the 300-seat parliament, said anyone acting under the orders of Yoon or the martial law edict was now "breaking the law".

Despite the vote, the defence ministry told reporters it would uphold the order "until the president lifts [it]".

It would appear 190 reps out of a total possible 300 voted to end it.

I have no idea why so many did not vote TBH.

If he had any support in the legislative branch, I would think there would be some "NO," votes to ending Martial Law.

:dunno:

Weak men seek authoritarians for comfort.

Bullhockey. Sensible men and women seek authoritarian leaders to keep their families safe from folks like you, who want to welcome millions of criminals into the country under the guise of "immigration."

Authoritarians often promise safety.

At least safety for the protected class.

I bet you’d be okay with declaring martial law over girls middle school basketball.
I cannot Declare martial law. I bet You’re ok with trans women punching females in the face

I don’t support anyone punching anyone in the face.

You support authoritarians and authoritarianism because you’re a weak man.

Agreed.

FDR was seen as a radical totalitarian by many. The only reason he won is because a majority of the population felt he was a better alternative to communists and fascists that wanted an authoritarian dictatorship to solve the problems of the nation at the height of the depression.

FDR’s Economic Policies Were Closer to the Fascists’ Than His Defenders Will Admit
