Then there is the written report and recommendations, and that is even before courts-martial trial (if warranted) can be scheduled, set up and convened. Most likely outcome is in this case is lots of publicity, while he draws a chunk of change with free legal representation.

If he goes back on Active Duty, as would be required, he would get full pay and allowance, just like anybody elsle on active duty, including any other Navy Captain, military paygrade O-6, plus drawing BOQ w/dependents and if he hasn't had a uniform allowance in 5 years, he would get that also, so he could face the proceedings sitting there with all his medals on his new Class A uniform, to include two Defense Superior Service Medals; one Legion of Merit; two Distinguished Flying Crosses; four Air Medals (two individual/two strike flight) with Combat "V"; two Navy Commendation Medals, (one with combat "V"); one Navy Achievement Medal; two Southwest Asia Service Medals; one Navy Expeditionary Medal; two Sea Service Deployment Ribbons; a NASA Distinguished Service Medal; and an Overseas Service Ribbon.

No money "funneled" simply the way it works, as being recalled to duty, it automatically being your last duty rank, with all pay and allowances.
