Mao Lives Again

10. The thought-police will never allow any to survive who do not bend to their will. You must claim to agree with every fallacy about gender, about racism, about police that they deem correct….even when they do a 180° turn the next day.

This is totalitarianism.

And it has all been done before.

"The Party’s all-around intrusion into people’s lives was the very point of the process known as “thought reform.” Mao wanted not only external discipline, but the total subjection of all thoughts, large or small. Every week a meeting for “thought examination” was held for those “in the revolution.” Everyone had both to criticize themselves for incorrect thoughts and be subjected to the criticism of others.

The meetings tended to be dominated by self-righteous and petty-minded people, who used them to vent their envy and frustration; people of peasant origin used them to attack those from “bourgeois” backgrounds. The idea was that people should be reformed to be more like peasants, because the Communist revolution was in essence a peasant revolution. This process appealed to the guilt feelings of the educated; they had been living better than the peasants, and self- criticism tapped into this. Meetings were an important means of Communist control.

Every time she went home she found herself being criticized. She was accused of being “too attached to her family,” which was condemned as a “bourgeois habit,” and had to see less and less of her own mother.

The Communists had embarked on a radical reorganization not just of institutions, but of people’s lives, especially the lives of those who had “joined the revolution.” The idea was that everything personal was political; in fact, henceforth nothing was supposed to be regarded as “personal” or private. Pettiness was validated by being labeled “political,” and meetings became the forum by which the Communists channeled all sorts of personal animosities. My father had to make a verbal self-criticism, and my mother a written one."
Chang, "Wild Swans"

11. The evil we thought had been banished by WWII is the coin of the realm today. These petty tyrants….most of them white….are angry with whitey for creating a successful culture and society in the United States, ignoring the fact that a rising tide lifts all boat….which explains the global desire to immigrate here.

They demand that everyone accept trans-generational race guilt.

Mao’s regime made the same sort of absurd, counter-intuitive demands.

“In each [anti-corruption] campaign everyone in the category which had been designated as the target by Peking came under some degree of scrutiny, mostly from their workmates and neighbors rather than the police. This was a key invention of Mao’s—to involve the entire population in the machinery of control. Few wrongdoers, according to the regime’s criteria, could escape the watchful eyes of the people, especially in a society with an age-old concierge mentality. But the “efficiency” was acquired at a tremendous price: because the campaigns operated on very vague criteria, and be- cause of personal vendettas, and even gossip, many innocent people were condemned.
One day in July 1955, my mother and the 800 employees in the Eastern District were all told they had to stay on the premises until further notice. A new political campaign had started—this time to uncover “hidden counterrevolutionaries.” Everyone was to be thoroughly checked.

The new campaign had been triggered by Mao’s reaction to the behavior of some Communist writers, … They did not necessarily disagree with Mao ideologically, but they betrayed an element of independence and an ability to think for themselves which he found unacceptable. He feared that any independent thinking might lead to less than total obedience to him. He insisted that the new China had to act and think as one, and that stringent measures were needed to hold the country together, or it might disintegrate. He had a number of leading writers arrested and labeled them a “counterrevolutionary conspiracy,” a terrifying accusation, as “counterrevolutionary” activity carried the harshest punishment, including the death sentence. This signaled the beginning of the end of individual expression in China. All the media had been taken over by the Party when the Communists came to power. From now on it was the minds of the entire nation that were placed under ever tighter control.”

Vote Democrat??? You can see the brave new world.

The average American post-1980 has been trained to social conformity. The power of the group over the individual has reached new heights in a nation founded upon the power of the individual.

What ever happened to ' the land of the free, and the home of the brave'?

It died with the social engineering that began in earnest in the 1970s.

Unless we can pry the schools from them, as earlier American pried their slaves from them.....America is lost.
And it's not even on the table being discussed yet!

On the bright side, some of the youngers are seeing how idiotic this current generation is and revolting against that!

I suppose sort of like the way I loathe dirty hippies! Grr!~

In all seriousness though: The Commies must be purged from the education system.

Textbooks are printed entirely by Communists. They have a monopoly on it.

If we ever want to get back to America being as good as it once was, they got to go!

I wish I could give you TWO stars on this one!

Polichic wants to continue to dislike black people by the last post, she always reveals her consternation with people that are not like her.

You're normally pretty balanced but son just because you don't know about a thing does not mean it isn't hapening. It's been happening since WW@, here is just one.

Jack Barsky: The KGB spy who lived the American dream
"

It's no secret that the Russians have long tried to plant "sleeper agents" in the US - men and women indistinguishable from normal Americans, who live - on the surface - completely normal lives. But what happens when one of them doesn't want to go home?

Jack Barsky died in September 1955, at the age of 10, and was buried in the Mount Lebanon Cemetery in the suburbs of Washington DC.

His name is on the passport of the man sitting before me now - a youthful 67-year-old East German, born Albert Dittrich. The passport is not a fake. Albert Dittrich is Jack Barsky in the eyes of the US government.

The story of how this came to be is, by Barsky's own admission, "implausible" and "ridiculous", even by the standards of Cold War espionage. But as he explains in a new memoir, Deep Undercover, it has been thoroughly checked out by the FBI. As far as anyone can tell, it is all true. "

Theyv'e infiltrated every institution that we have.

328 Chinese nationals caught entering US illegally

"

At least 328 Chinese nationals trying to enter the United States illegally since January have been intercepted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials as part of heightened awareness on the borders to block the coronavirus from slipping into the nation.

Officials told Secrets Wednesday that since January, 328 Chinese were “apprehended” and sent back across the border or repatriated consistent with existing policy and procedure. Another three from South Korea, where the virus is also spreading, were also caught.

Some 227 foreign nationals from other nations who tried to enter through legal border points from Feb. 2 through March 3 have been turned away due to the travel restriction ordered by the president and implemented by the Department of Homeland Security, officials said.

The White House previously announced travel restrictions for China, saying the U.S. would keep out any foreign national who's been in China within 14 days.

Several agencies within the DHS have been enlisted into President Trump’s “whole of government” attack on the virus, and more than 700 officials have been deployed to the effort.

Just because you don't know about a thing in no way means it isn't true.

We are learning the hard way that the United States is not exceptional.

When the Dems take over in a few months, their version of the Cultural Revolution will go into high gear.

Everyone will be expected to walk in lockstep with the party line.

In the 1920s, the German people lived in a democracy.

In the 1930s, their freedoms disappeared and they had to swear allegiance to that evil man.

It seems that the same reversal of fortune awaits us Americans.

You appear to be almost as much a pessimist as I am.
I award you a curtsy.

The whole idea of social justice as a vehicle to thwart freedom is insidious. It is an effective weapon for the media and the schools. To say that government control and equality have anything to do with each other is a monstrous attack on us all.

It is an old Soviet invention, check it's history in regards to Central America. Tim Kaine and The Pope are both Jesuits who espouse this crap.

1.In the most astounding of developments, the recent events in America more than mirror the events and propaganda movements that the most psychotic homicidal maniac brought to China during the Great Leap Forward.

2. “Forced apologies and public shaming for doctrinal deviation sweep American culture

'It’s a project to force people to adopt a civic religion directly contrary to their knowledge of the world,' says S.T. Karnick, editor of The American Culture web site."
Forced apologies and public shaming for doctrinal deviation sweep American culture

3. We are witnessing the same forced opposition to law and order, to American tradition, to the imposition of the law of the jungle, that was the hallmark of Mao’s China.

Jung Chang, writing her memoires of life under Mao, “Wild Swans,” points to that sort of lock-step obedience to lies and propaganda.

“The lesson was that Mao’s authority was unchallengeable—even though he was clearly in the wrong. Officials could see that no matter how high up you were—and no matter what your standing—if you offended Mao you would fall into disgrace. They also knew that you could not speak your mind and resign, or even resign quietly: resignation was seen as an unacceptable protest. There was no opting out. The mouths of the Party as well as the people were now tightly sealed.”

Truth had no meaning…the party line was all that mattered.

4. “New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees learned that after saying he would “never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America.” Teammate Malcolm Jenkins issued a fiery response. And he was far from alone.
"And it's unfortunate because I considered you a friend,” Jenkins said. “I looked up to you. You're somebody who I had a great deal of respect for. But sometimes you should shut the f--- up.”

It’s only the latest example of a broadly held, previously uncontroversial opinion that suddenly had to be recanted and publicly atoned for. Consider actor Mario Lopez’s 2019 comments saying a three-year-old child shouldn’t be able to dictate his or her own gender.
There’s nothing wrong with what he said,” Gonzalez says. “It should still be normal to say that. [The flag] is a symbol of the nation, the goodness of the nation, and it’s to be respected.”

Such apologies remind [Mike Gonzalez, senior fellow at the Heritage Foundation] of Maoist China, where public humiliations enforce the prescribed groupthink.
“The language [Brees] used was straight out of critical social justice ‘I am’ statements like ‘I am an ally’ … you’re only an ally in times of war,” Gonzalez says, adding it’s reminiscent of the “struggle sessions” that took place in Communist China under Mao, often where the dissenting person worked.” Forced apologies and public shaming for doctrinal deviation sweep American culture
